Vic is an amazing prof. His classes are always interesting and he is incredibly smart. The problem sets are tough but if you go see him during office hours, he is VERY helpful. His exams are also tough but he lets you bring in one double sided cheat sheet for the midterm and 2 for the final. I would definitely take another class with this prof.

Super good professor! I didn't attend much because it's an economics class but when I was there I was interested and learned a lot because Vic is very smart, very clear, and very helpful. He is a relaxed and easy going legend in the Economic Department at the U of A

This might just be the smartest guy I've ever met, but he's really down to earth for what you would expect from the smartest guy you've ever met. Really nice guy, smart, but you need to put the work in to succeed.

Nice man, smart man, helpful man. Indeed. Confusing, yes. I often had no idea why we were learning what we were. Tests are difficult, but his enthusiasm for the subject is rather endearing. Not a class you can just cruise through and skip a lot of. Be warned: the notes he puts online are uselss if you don't show up to class.

Read before you come to class, otherwise you'll be lost for 80 of the most confusing minutes of your life. Just try to absorb what he's telling you... then worry about expressing the probability mathematically. Pr(Vic=1:g)=Pr(V2<earth)=Pr(1-earth). Yep, he's the most humble, down to earth genius you will ever be lucky enough to learn from and meet
