Once you get past the somewhat rough exterior you discover he's quite a nice guy. He's very helpful and does what he can to improve your photography skill. He even gave me film when I didn't have the money to buy it but wouldn't allow me to reimberse him. He's very kind hearted and has a sense of humor so his class is good over all.

Some people think the first photo class should be about fun, but it should be about the basics, andlearning to walk before you can run. He is an excellent teacher, his explanations are always very clear. Once you've learned the basics with him, and understand the whole black and white process, then you have the tools to be creative. Loved his class

This guy should be teaching first time photo students in high school bacause i mean he dosen't even let you to be creative with your pictures. my high school photo class was a lot more fun and relaxed. he always chooses what picture you should print and is never satisfied with the work you turn in.

He is very traditional. He is approachable if you can get over the rough German attitude. Many people think he is not a nice guy, but it is really a cultue/language barrier. If i didn't change my major i would take him again.

I don't really understand why a teacher like this is still teaching. Being rigid is one thing but not listening and making rude comments to even his pet students is completely another. I have seen my entire class go from being excited about photography to "I just want to get it over with" mentality. I honestly feel this teacher has lost his passion

I have tons of photo/lab experience from other colleges and I took this class for fun.I fully regretted it.He is an awful teacher and an even worse photographer.Not helpful at all, and down right mean.Spent most of my lab time helping classmates because he wouldn't.I would expect an art prof to have some talent, but his photos were just pathetic.

We had to do a portrait picture and at the last minute my reluctant boyfriend agreed to sit for it. This instructor made a snide comment about my boyfriends'looks, which we found hurtful. He also isn't so good if you want to ask questions- there seems to be no good way to ask him without a hot steaming load of sarcasm.

Very rude instructor, butI don't think he means to be rude (it's just the way he is!). I've seen him chewout students or ask them a redundant question and expect an answer. There is a slight bit of a language barrier, but he does know what he's doing photographically - instructionally, I'd say NO.

Very intimidating! It took me the end of the semester to get used to his criticism. You almost feel afraid to ask him a question for fear that he might bite your head off!! I did get an A but you better have some talent if you want to pass.
