Dr. Marty was an excellent Poli-Sci professor. He was intelligent, insightful, and thorough. His I took several classes from him and got to know him also as my faculty advisor. His upper level classes are not easy. You'll have to work for your grades. But in the end worth every minute.

Comment:
Friend and teacher for almost thirty years. Deeply concerned for students and throughly dispassionate in his lectures.He is supremely knowleagable in ancient and modern political thought and emphasizes textual exegesis. Class discussion is Socratic discussion. Student has to write analytical papers and know relationships. Exceptional teacher!

I enjoyed his class. His voice is nasally, which makes him seem boring. If you keep up with the reading, he will explain it to you in modern terms. It is easy to turn the lectures into a discussion!

I don't know about all of the other reviews, but this was one of the most boring classes I have ever taken. Relatively easy class, but he is majorly biased to the right, but he is a fair grader. Overall, he was the most unprepared teacher I have ever experienced.

Good teacher, but he seems tired and bored all the time. He doesn't seem to like to communicate individually with students unless they are of the fairer sex. He has been around to long, but knows his stuff. Tests are essay, and very subjective. Class is not hard, but the reading is boring!

Not everyone finds every aspect of politics interesting. Dr. Marty does a great job of discussing things, letting everyone have an opinion, and the work is bearable. I made a B in his class, could have made an A. He's a great instructor.
