Would not recommend this professor. She is a very nice lady, but when it comes to teaching.....I advise you to take another teacher. Extremely hard tests, long lectures, all the does is read the power points. Labs? She never has the material to do them. Boring, painful class!!!

She is extremely disorganized. She does not stick to the class outline. She is not very good at power points, however if you try to pay attention in class, she does try to explain material. The problem comes in with the tests. She gives tests over things she doesnt teach. ALL questions come from online questions word for word. Grades on a curve

Took the Online Lecture and on campus lab class. As long as you read your lab manual you will do okay on the lab quizzes, practicals are very easy. Lecture quizzes and exams can be tough but since no one is teaching you, you must teach yourself. They are DOABLE. Responds to emails but sometimes doesn't clarify. Easygoing and polite professor.

Comment:

Dr. Bailey is a nice and easy person to talk. However, she is extremely disorganized prof. She skipped around on the syllabus, constantly changed due dates for exams, etc. I took an online class with her and she never update her syllabus nor powerpoint presentations. I studies very hard for her class, I passed, but I do not reccommend her class.

I really liked Dr. Bailey. She loves Biology and she expressed this from the beginning. She was helpful when I needed her. Yes, she is a little disorganized but that is what makes her unique. If you needed help, she would go above and beyond to help anyone.

Spring '11 I love science, I was really looking forward to this class. Dr. Bailey, while nice and easy to talk to is an extremely disorganized prof. She skipped around on the syllabus, constantly changed due dates for exams, etc. She is INCREDIBLY slow on getting grades back. She does grade on a curve though.. expects ALOT of reading & studying.

I HAD to drop this class. She never updated her syllabus online and it was an online course. There was lab one night a week on campus. She would change things and not tell everyone. She would tell us not to do experiments that were assigned then expect us to know answers. She changed test dates and chapters they were on, without telling us.

Well she sucks... A week before the drop date was due, the class went from having like 25 students to about 9... that itself should tell you how well (or not so well) she teaches. GOOD LUCK TO WHOEVER IS TAKING HER THIS SEMESTER!!

Dr.Bailey doesn't often get to teach Genetics because there often isn't enough students who sign up. The class wasn't easy, and she likes to focus on molecular biology. The tests are what you would expect in a majors biology genetics course at a university, but she curves them. Definitely a class worth taking.

idk how she is at lectures, but she is a terrible online teacher. the tests are over the entire chapter, and the only tools you are given is your book, and the ppt summarizing the book, with not enough info to pass any of the quizzes. everyone in the class is basically failing or close to, and i study up to 6 hours a day and still am making an c.

I had her for lab and she was awesome. She made the subject interesting and simple to understand. She grades really fair. I would recommend taking her for the main lecture professor in biology if you can.

Dr Bailey is very friendly and easy to talk to. She's not big on lecturing but answers questions if you have them. Gives good info on what to study on tests. If you want someone who is going to lecture before every lab, don't take her. But she is very informative and knows her stuff.
