This class was the death of me. I might fail english 2. Are you kidding me? Last semester I did perfectly fine and loved wsc 001, but then I got this teacher and she was just horrid. She really should not be teaching. She barely even helped me redo my papers. I got a D on 2 papers and she didn't even justify it. I'm usually an A/B student.

Worst class I have taken at Hofstra thus far. Material is extremely boring. if you want a good grade you have to suck up and participate in class. Honestly this class made me want to gouge my eyes out with a pen and rupture my ear drums because she repeats the same thing 8 different ways and looks like a troll.

She isthe absolutes worst teacher ive ever had in my life..she is rude and condescending. She is the worst grader ever. She is about 90 yrsold and should not be teaching anymore

So, shes nice and all, but that's it. Shes the GRAMMAR queen! you could have the greatest essay but a few grammar issues and you get a C- on the paper. Don't bother talking because she wont hear you. She helps you and allows you to rewrite your paper and trust me, you will need to rewrite it. Not my favorite teacher at Hofstra, at all

She is too old to be doing what she is doing. I say this not to be mean or rude but it really hinders the class. She doesn't hear well at all and won't understand the questions. Coming from an English Major...this class teaches you absolutely nothing with this professor. I would advise all others to take with a different professor.

a kind woman, but should no longer be teaching. although she has a passion for english, profesor hughes often made the material unenjoyable as she would lecture about the same thing over and over that had no relavance. her office hours were pointless as she would advise you to do one thing on essays, but then contradict herself when she grades them

A wonderful professor. Extremely helpful especially if you go to her with your writing and get to know her! Readings are enjoyable and essays are not that bad to write, plus she will help you until you get an A. SHe wants to see you do good. I advise you take her class

A fantastic teacher and a brilliant woman--one of the best classes and I feel I got my money's worth. She goes out of her way to help you do well, but she isn't a pushover. I highly recommend Professor Hughes.

She is a good teacher, strict grader, but good. You can rewrite papers if you don't do well on them which is always a plus. She talks about the readings in depth and it can get pretty boring, but if you pay attention to her you will learn a lot which will go a long way in helping you write papers.

she is a sweet little old lady who is always more then happy to help. can get boring at times but she is a pretty easy grader and allows you to rewrite all papers so the lack in excitment is totaly worth it.btw get on her good side, it pays off.
