Great prof with a witty sense of humor. Although lectures are fast-paced, his notes are very clear and cover what you need to know. Assignments are very long, but a good understanding of them is sufficient to do well in the midterm and the final. Also very lenient in grading. Would take again in a heartbeat!

Very fun course. A must-take in McGill. You do not need much knowledge from ODE to take this, but you need to know some linear algebra. This is very self-contained that you can learn everything inside this course without much background. Tests and exams are assignment-level and with his AMAZING lectures, you will not fail it if you show up.

Great prof, and excellent course. He's pretty clear in class although he writes insanely fast- and once you fall behind it's easy to get lost. Thankfully the textbook is also excellent and you can use it to fill in any gaps from the lecture. Midterm was a bit tough, final was better (took best 5 qs out of 8, even if you answered more than 5).

His Math 325 is very good. Felt like I learned a lot but didn't put a lot of time because everything was made clear by him during lectures.

Clearest notes out there. Humphries is organized, hilarious and quite knowledgeable. A true gem in the math faculty! His 325 class is not particularly challenging, since his notes cover everything. A must take.

Not good, extreme expectations of prereqs, the class consists of him doing things that 95% people cant follow and arent in the book. Avoid

This class required a lot of note writing during class, but this wasn't so horrible. It's easy to get lost in this course and not understand but if you make a dilligent effort to learn the material it's really easy once understood. Humphries is a very fair teacher, with no surprises on his tests.

Humphries is the man. There is a lot of writing involved in his classes, but the notes you end up getting are great for studying. The midterm and assignments were relatively easy so do your best at them as the final is tough. Still, if you have a solid understanding of the material and practice, you should be able to get an A.

Humphries' ODEs class was amazingly clear, precise, and hilarious. You don't even need a book for the course since he covers everything so well. Also, the assignments are always well-structured and way more instructive than in any course I've taken. Great, great, prof.

He's the best overall teacher in my 4 years at McGill. Entertaining British wit, casual atmosphere, motivates the material and and grades fairly. Great marks scheme (asst's are not undervalued as in most other classes). Expect an A if you do good, serious work - only lousy profs give easy A's. Take him for every class you can (he teaches many).

Really good teacher, very organised notes (but writes lots of it). Does examples and makes things very easy to understand, turning big proofs and theories into one summarized "box". Sometimes funny and nice accent.

Pure Awesomeness! Really don't bother buying a textbook, it's a total waste of money. The best math teacher there is out there. I very nearly flunked Inter Calculus with Bajpai and got 95% in ODEs with Humphries. He makes the theory sound like an elementary course, but watch out! It's still a math class so do your assignments, or else...
