Very passionate about her field of work, I could hear her talk about astronomy for hours. This semester is the last time that they're offering it in class, but I would definitely recommend the online for anyone looking for an easy A and fills a few requirements.

Professor Pilachowski is a teacher who knows what she is talking about and is passionate about what she teaches. Look at the "Test Yourself" questions at the end of each chapter in the book for the quizzes. Study your quizzes for the final. It's important to go to the discussion. Overall, easy and interesting class.

Pilachowski is one of the nicest professors I've had so far and she genuinely cares about the grades her students receive. While her tests average around 60 to 70 percent class wide, she gives tons of stuff to offset everyone's terrible grades. If you read the material, show up to class, and do the work, you'll do fine.

Caty definitely knows what she's talking about, but to pass this class you'll have to pay attention during lectures and truly study for the quizzes. Attendance isn't mandatory, but as mentioned, you should probably go if you want to do well in the class.

In general, lectures aren't bad, she does a pretty decent job at making things interesting. Tests are hard (class average was usually a 66%). There's a nice curve, but it's done at the very end, so you really have no way of knowing how you're doing until it's done.

Tests are hard but she makes every effort to accomodate the needs of her students. I had some trouble at the beginning of the semester and she did every thing in her power to help me understand the matieral. Take the quizes on OnCourse because half of the test ?s come from those. Not a blowoff class

Look her up on google. She knows her stuff, wants students to get A's. You will if you go to class and do the readings. Tests are straight from the assignments and lecture notes. Combined with the extra credit course projects, no reason not to get an A.

Run screaming into the woods away from her. Her class seemed easy, but the tests were nighmares, projects and Just in Time questions. I studied hard, read everything, was at 90% of the classes and still got a C+. Average test scores were LOW C's.
