A brilliant man, but his everything and the kitchen sink approach is a bit ridiculous. His teaching method is tedious and silly, surely a man of such intellect would realize this...

ID is a big topic, so it's not his fault there's a lot of material. Seems overwhelming but he gives you review sheets and if you fill them out, you have all you need for the exam. It's a lot but it's better than trying to just read his regular notes. For the Integrated exams he was beyond easy, only tested on drugs the therapeutics teachers covered

he gives a review sheet, so get people together and try to complete it because its LONG. If you just memorize what others did, it won't help as much so try doing it on your own.

Best Professor Ever. Learned the most from him! Might be overwhelming at first but if you study you will do well. Not only does he know his stuff but he also tries to help you out - you wont put any trick questions

Pharmacology is an interesting subject, but he is a poor professor- its just not worth studying 500+ pages of notes only to get 15-18 ?'s on the test. For respiratory he made us memorize well over 20 different drugs on the midterm and guess what, tested us only on about 7. Not worth it and sorry i didnt like the guy

ASHBY is awesome. He goes over A LOT of material in class and it may seem overwhelming at first, but go to class and highlight what he mentions in class. He doesn't try to trick you on the exam for his part, and his part is the easiest section on the exam.

ASHBY IS THE MAN! Goes through a dictionary-sized amount of material in a few days and talks very fast, but you will understood more than in other subsequent D&D pharmacology lectures. Do the review sheet, go to and relisten lectures, he will not try to screw you over in questions ("Which is false?" types, 4 non-related choices). -NS

Come to class with notes or you will be lost. Nice guy, but a lot of material. Highlight what he mentions, and do the review sheet. All his questions are "All of the following are true EXCEPT" so you have to study everything. Easiest part on the test compared to everything else.

Dr. Ashby's section is probably the most "easy" (but the whole process of studying his oodles of notes was quite difficult), in comparison to the therapeutics and med chem (may GOD help you with med chem). Do the review sheet AFTER you read every single thing that he emphasized in class. Know ADME, interactions, unique details, and etc. Smile! =]

ID+respiratory. Just keep up with him. Highlight all important points and make sure to do the review questions. If you can do all the review questions, you are golden. Great knowledge set. ID has insane amounts of information, so must keep up. Pace is a lot slower in respiratory.

GREAT guy! About 15-18 questions on the midterm and final. Midterm questions are much easier than the questions he asked on the final. DO the review sheet! Don't take someone else's copy. When you actually do it yourself you are learning the material. Once completed, you won't have to look at the packet of notes again.

when u have ashby for the first time you freak out b/c he's really fast. but you have to be there for his test reviews and doing his review sheet questions is a must, he practically gives away the answers. so just make the little effort to actually study!! it's guaranteed points on his part of the test, and in the end you actually learn something
