I took this class to try and boost my GPA and it ended up being my lowest grade for the semester. Great guy and definitely feel more comfortable talking in front of people but very few people get As on any of the speeches. Don't take this if your not a communication major- take a GER instead.

He refers to himself as Chuck while lecturing. If you want a good laugh, take his class. Always come equipped with a JOKE and he will love you. His tests are RANDOM as hell, but if you do well on the papers/speeches and show up to class, you'll be fine. He is a genuinely sweet person, but can be boring and dull at times.

Darling man! I don't think you will meet anyone who knows him and does not love him! He's great! easy for tests if you put a little bit of effort in and are capable of thinking, tougher about grading speeches. If you like skipping class you won't want to skip this class...it brightens my day and I actually look forward to it.

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Delancey...aka Big Chuck. He is a great professor, always willing to help you with your speeches, and never fails to laugh through half of class. He is one of a kind, but I'm so glad that I took his class!

He is definitely one of a kind. Thought he was nuts initially but he is hilarious and he teaches well. He is very succinct and he will answer questions... can get him on tangeants. PLEASE take him at least for your entertainment, hes pretty easy.

AMAZING class!I would take it 3 times over with Dr. DeLancey (aka BIG CHUCK).He is soo funny, but offers great advice and is very knowledgeable.Class is a little unconventional but definitely fun!He isn't a tough grader as long as you follow his guidelines.Flexible in class and doesn't mind changing things around to help you.TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

I love Big Chuck (as he calls himself). His class is always entertaining, and Public Speaking is a really important skill for anyone to have. He is definitely the easiest teacher for the subject, but you still learn a lot. He tells funny stories almost every day, and never fails to say something is a "sad tale of woe." Such a funny guy..

chuck is great. he always says, "OOOooooooo!" and, "what a sad tale of woe." Very laid back guy. Let me tell my jokes whenever they came to mind, didnt get frustrated when i interrupted him to point out puns. very flexible professor.

Yeah, I took him for everything because he's not very tough. See 4/15/04 post - he's a weird guy but if you follow his speech guidelines you'll be set. You should be able to pick up on what he wants you to say in papers. Site sources in speeches! Plays favorites a bit, but no one gets below a B.

Makes class very fun. We routinely go outside. Once we talked him into moving the speeches back a few days. Flexible, interesting, and fun to listen to. Reading is optional and there are no tests or a final. He's a little hard to please on the speeches but class is enjoyable nonetheless.
