By far the best professor I've ever had, as I took him for 101, 102, and 103. I can't recommend him enough, as he does everything a teacher should do. He does sometimes go into tangents, but that is usually because there is extra time. He does make sure everyone participates in class, so the quiet kid in the back can't hide forever.

Professor Trillo maintained my knowledge in Spanish throughout Spanish 101. He does not grade bookwork, but he grades online assignments to improve your Spanish 101 semester grade. If you study often, you will earn an A in the class. He respects you if you respect him and work hard. Thank-you for being a helpful professor, Professor Trillo!

Prof Trillo taught me so much with Spanish and expanding my knowledge with the language. I know Spanish so it was easier to me but it definitely helped me better my Spanish. He really cares about his students and want them to learn the language. Would definitely take again.

Very clear-cut class. You know exactly what needs to be done in order to get an A on each test. If you do the hw and get his feedback during class, you will be fine. He really cares about teaching and his students, and is such a kind soul. I thoroughly enjoyed taking him for two semesters and believe i learned quite a bit of Spanish!

Very passionate, intelligent, and nice. Had him for Spanish 101-103 and will take 104 with him too. Majority of class is based on using the book- (reading, going over vocab, doing exercises). He is very helpful when someone has a question/ needs further explanation. He responds quickly to emails and isnt super strict on attendance. Fun class!

He gets frustrated when a student says something wrong, or they don't understand a question. He also tends to embarrase or call out students who are struggling or getting things wrong. Is very degrading at times.

I took this class the spring of 2016. Learning a different language is very difficult, and he made it much easier. He is extremely patient with you when you are learning the language. The classes cover a lot and you need to study a lot to learn the language, but he wants you to succeed and is very friendly.

Okay for those of you who never had spanish b4 or dont speak it. do not take the class because it would be harder for you. if u decide to take it, know little bit of spanish first because it is a fast paste. he is not gonna do alot of teaching, he let the computer do it for him. and it get little confusing sometimes.

I did not like his teaching style. He likes to single out and embarrass students if they don't know the material, and would not treat students like adults. One girl got yelled at for looking up a word, but when he would call on students who didn't know a word in the exercise, he would say "why didn't you look it up?" Confusing at best.

Professor Trillo is amazing! I don't understand these other comments. He is very easy to understand, he's super funny and not harsh or mean at all. He is very knowledgeable and not just about Spanish. Wish I could take him for 103

The guy speaks 5+ languages fluently, and is passionate about teaching them all. I went in with an attitude of learning Spanish for school requirement reasons, and left with a desire to minor in Spanish and Study abroad in Spain next year. I'm already signed up for both 102 and 103 in Summer and Fall with this teacher. You MUST practice, though.

He knows the subject very well but isn't great at explaining it to others. He assigns homework and then AFTER teaches you what you couldn't figure out. He doesn't give any heads up what's on the test. However, if you do the work he assigns you will do fine. I did better than expected. Do your work and ask lots of questions. It's a do-able class.

Cute accent. Clearly an experienced teacher. Understands beginners. Easy grader. Will put you on the spot, but not embarrass you. Will correct you, but not shame you. Inspires the students to travel and learn with his stories and facts. I learned more about the French culture from him than from anywhere else.

Great teacher! 2 classes I took w him were 50% in Spanish (3&4). Always willing to help u if u need it. Easy grader. Definitely has a love for teaching languages & loves when students show interest. He knows when u don't study, so u better study & practice outside class, or he'll ask you more questions in Spanish during class!

I was an honors French student in high school as well as a member of the National French Honors Society. That being said, he really made me not want to come to the class at all. His teaching style isn't very hands on. He's decent I guess, but he really made me dislike the class.

He is a pretty decent teacher. He likes to talk about Spanish culture a lot. The syllabus was very confusing and didn't explain when the tests were. You must study! He is a alright grader. I ended up dropping because of because of a schedule issue (the class is really early too...) I would try to take him again if things were different.

He is a good teacher with the exception of being intimidating. He was not born in America so he makes fun of Americans a lot and make us sound stupid. Overall, he is very intimidating but a good teacher that knows his stuff. The book is used a lot and he is always open to help you after class.

He is tough and he does have a tendency to make fun of people that don't work hard. If you make an effort and show it, he'll be easy on you. He just takes getting used to. He wants you to be able to communicate properly as if you are in France, so it is a tough class. His tests can be hard, you have to work hard for an A. He will help when asked.
