Comment:

There are not clear instructions when it comes to papers other than 2000 words. The books are HORRIBLE and boring. The class is not interesting whatsoever. I have considered dropping multiple times because the reading is so boring and you never do anything in class other than talk about the most random things that might relate to the book.

Comment:

Dr. Gahan is not only an amazing teacher, he is an amazing human being. He and his wife take the time to welcome each new history student every year and he embraces all of his students all four years. We kept a notebook of 'Gahanisms' because he would come up with the most amazing one liners or theories unlike anyone else. Truly respect him.

He is a very hard grader and really makes you work for the grade you deserve. He can ramble on and on about his own life, which is very interesting but then he forgets to talk about the material which will be covered on exams.

Dr. Gahan is an incredible professor. I took several classes from him and loved every one of them. He is a tough instructor but always willing to help in any way he can. He helped spark my love for history and I will never forget his classes!

One of my fav profs!!! I've had him for 3 classes and I can't say enough about how great he is. His classes are entertaining and he always picks great books to read. In class, he gets the right balance of discussion and lecture. Very kind, smart, wonderful man. We are so lucky to have him at UE.

Dr.Gahan's GREAT. He would start every class asking us how we were, even though we never really answered. lol. He made history really interesting, and the whole Irish accent thing's pretty awesome. I loved that class!

Funny & Energetic! Lectures are entertaining and make you think. History with a new perspective/twist. Tests are essays and also one paper due at the end of the semester. This would be a great class for non-majors to take. Boring book but read it, take notes, and you will do okay.

Thoroughly enjoys teaching and passes hat enthusiasm to his students. While not the easiest History teacher at UE, he makes class fun.
