Ok so some people here are referring to anothing King I guess, the professor I had paused between every sentence in his class and was not helpful at all and he did not give study guides and did not allow make up tests and worst of all his tests are incredible confusing. He has multiple choice questions from A-E.and some things apply to the question

The class is straight lecture. The tests he gives are EASY, matching terms and definitions. The study guides are confusing. He will use about half the info on the study guides. He is a nice person.

smart, even over qualified. Gone to his head. When correcting student, gives very patronizing look. "you're a child." "I'm above you." has been directed at many. Expects notes on concise edition. can't keep up. Response, "maybe you should rely on memory." Hands back tests w/o grades. Holds grades until end of class, obviously enjoys tension caused

Professor King was an awesome teacher. If you have the ability to pay attention when he talks, you take a lot away from the class. I felt like I knew everything there was to know about the time period after I took this class. Highly recommend it!

I think King's gotten a bad rap.It's very true that the guy only lectures for 45 minutes straight(which I actually think was interesting,but you can get easily lost),but the class is determined buy test grades, which he drops the lowest one.All it really takes to study is to write down EVERY single thing the guy says(it's not as bad as it sounds).

oh man!!! never take his class. i have taken his class and now i have to take again for just 1 point behind C grade. i tried my best during his whole sememester but i could not get anything. otherwise i am A gradder person so how can i dull this level in his class?

I did not like King. His teaching style is to lecture stright through class and then give you a sheet of terms to memorize for a match test. It sounds easy but it's not, and you come away having retained very little from his class.

Dan King may come across a little rough to students that don't get what he's talking about, or see where he's coming from. He is, however, the most knowledgable history teacher I've ever had. He does not teach by the book (because history texts are garbage) and even points out when it's wrong. I'd reccomend this class to anyone that wants to learn.

He's an excellent professor. I love to listen to him talk because he knows so much. He's a very, very smart man. And he makes learning history fun. Tests are a little tough, but he gives out a vocab list a week ahead of time. I would recommend taking good notes and reading the assgned chapters.
