Comment:

He knows what he is talking about and he does a good job at teach that to his students. When I took classes with him he was getting ready to retire. Class frequently felt like he had both feet out the door. He does get off track frequently, but it does normally somehow relate to class discussion. Be prepared for jargon

Comment:

I really enjoyed Dr. Anthony's class. All the testing material was discussed in a review the week of the exam and we were also given review sheets. Textbooks were somewhat helpful but not necessary and reading book assignments were heavily discussed in class. Anthony often got off topic in his lectures, but he was never dull -- made me laugh a lot!

Rude person, pompous attitude, rambles on about himself and his wife, gets off topic a lot. he made us purchase a book he wrote for a class, then we never even used it.

Engaging lectures, never a dull moment in his classes.I learned a lot, however, it became clear as time went on that he is "egotistical" versus "proud" of his work and educational background.I guess his personal character shouldn't matter in an academic review, but for some reason I can't seem to overlook it.

honestly, I loved the man when I first started out at school. But since he wrote his book, it seems as though his dedication to the students has gradually gone to the back burner. Its a bit annoying and a shame

Funny and interesting. If you show up to class and take good notes you don't need to read the textbook. Very fun, but sometimes he gets a little too sidetracked (although it's always interesting and entertaining). I'd recommend him.

David Anthony was my professor 20 years ago and I STILL think about what he might think of something. He is articulate and inspiring. Take a class with him and get ready for some good thinking.

David Anthony was my advisor and professor for my entire four years at Hartwick. He was by far the best professor I have ever had. He was always willing to meet and help out with any problems I might have had. I wish more professors would show the genuine concern for their students like he did. I would reccomend taking any class with Dr. Anthony.

I'm taking North American Native Prehistory with Anthony and it's an awesome class. I didn't know anything about anthropology before taking this but he makes everything really interesting; he's a funny guy and is very intelligent. He definately knows the material extremely well. Tests are hard if you don't take good notes. Take meticulous notes
