Judd was a fun lecturer, with so much local knowledge that it created a fun and challenging course, but sometimes chaotic with random tangents.

Judd was probably my favorite professor at Cuesta. And by far he was the best history professor. He is full of information and stories that you would not normally learn in a History course. I took him for both US history classes and California History as well and it was the best experience of my college years. STUDY GUIDES ARE THE TESTS!

Judd is very knowledgeable and has a lot of experience. BUT he is very hard to follow and you never know what to expect on tests and quizzes. On top of that he grades extremely hard on everything. I would much rather have taken any other history teacher.

Great personality! Actually made history very interesting. 2 papers due during the semester. Willing to look over your study guide for you, and make corrections. If you study the study guide, and short answer questions you should do fine. Lots to remember, but doable. Gives a few extra credit questions on the tests! Straight forward guy, no bull!

FOLLOW HIS STUDY GUIDES!!!!!!! If you do then you will get an A. If you don't you will fail! Judd is a great guy and fun to talk to. His lectures tend to stray but they do bring the subject matter to life. If you follow the study guids you will be fine. Take the time to pre-answer the written topics on the study guide and it will kill some stress.

I began the semester feeling intrigued by this guy's passion, sarcasm, and wealth of experience. However, after bombing the first test(which I felt well prepared for) I realized that his jumbled lectures were far from test material. He requires 2 extensive papers, for which he gives little if any mention to. This class left me guessing most times.

He is passionate about what he teaches and is a very nice man to talk to outside of class. However I was disappointed in his teaching skills. He included his opinion too often in the lecture and sometimes his facts are wrong, as I researched several things he said that didn't 'ring true'. His class is easy, just study the study guides.

He knows what hes talking about, but goes off on a tangent way too much. The stuff he lectures us on is not part of the study guide questions. Then when you go to do the study questions, the notes that he supports contain no answers, just a rough outline. Very annoying when you try to study something you have no material for.

I really enjoyed this class. He was very passionate about life and about his class. It definitely shows. All of his tests are easy if you do the Study Guides. My suggestion would be to do the Study Guides and then email him your answers or go to office hours and have him check your answers. I went to his office hours and he really helped me.

I honestly hated the class. I felt as if he was never clear enough on what he wanted in the essays or short answers in class. Lectures were horrible, he would go off subject so easily, and the notes he would write on the board were hard to read and understand.

This class is so easy! Just do the study guides and have him read over them with your essays and BAM...! You've got an A. Not only is he easy, but he is such a passionate person, you will love sitting in his lectures and enlightening yourself with everything he has to say, whether it's personal, relevant to the class, or completely random.

No one knows what to take notes of for personal reference. He is passionate about history and a wonderful person but the teaching style does not benefit the students. You could not go to class then just show up to turn in papers and take tests because all test material come straight from study guides.

Judd really enjoys history and talks about local stuff to make it more relavant and interesting. Just make sure to ask him about the study guides and he will tell you the correct answers and his tests are the exact same as the study guides. There was two papers that were due and he offered to help out with that too. Really nice and helpful.

I took the class because I love history, but I didn't need it. I ended up dropping out because of his teaching style. He goes off on crazy tangents- you don't know what is important to take notes on & what isn't. His notes on the board are scarce and incomplete, very hard to read. Attended a class 2x and got diff notes both times.
