Dr. Heath was a great professor. His class was very well formatted and was an optimal amount of work expected for a college level course. Class discussions were relevant and current and very interesting. Tests were fair, he allowed us to go back and fix answer using our notes and the text. He loves trick questions. He drops the lowest grades too!

This class has LOTS of work. There is a homework assignment for every class and there is a map quiz (that is actually easy) for every class. There is a test about every 3 weeks and it covers lots of materials. Good teacher, interesting class, just be prepared for lots of work.

This is a world history class not a world geography class. Yes, you will do a daily map quiz but the majority of your work will be on the HISTORY of that area of study and a much smaller amount will actually concentrate on Geog. He's a good teacher, don't take this class unless you're prepared to work like crazy

Dr. Heath is an awesome professor! He is very knowledgeable and encourages his students to learn more about the world. This class is not just about studying maps of the world but also it teaches you how to understand people better. You will learn about the history of different cultures and the reasons why things in the world happen. Great class!

Heath is an amazing professor, one of the best I've ever had. His World Geography class is for people who want TO LEARN, I felt so bad for him sometimes cause half my class was brain dead. If you fall asleep in his class you're a complete dolt who doesn't belong in college.

I'm not sure why everyone else thinks this class is so difficult. There are quizzes in the beginning of each class but it's just 6 questions labeling a map & the online quizzes are 6 questions about the area you're studying. He gives out a manual that basically spells it out for you. He's a great teacher & very intelligent, really loved the class.

About two hours of homework between every class, also there is an online quiz between every class, and a map quiz in the beginning of each class. Do not take if you're not willing to put in a few hours of work between classes. He is very passionate about what he does, but every class is in a lecture style.

Dr. Heath is a good professor. His class is very easy if you put in any amount of effort at all. The class can get boring at times during his endless lectures, but sometimes the class is interesting. There is a book quiz and a map quiz to take before every class. If you put in a little effort in this class you can easily get a B+ or higher.

Best Teacher I ever had! But I will say he is a tough teacher. His teaching style is inspiring and he loves what he does. He is a Great Mind and any student is lucky to soak up lessons from him.

Doug is a FANTASTIC teacher! I learned so much, and the class was really easy too. On tests, he lets you fix the answers you got wrong (open book!) for 1/2 credit. He also offers a lot of extra credit and is passionate about Geography. He really is educated himself and passes it along. No one should get below a B in this class.

One of the best professors I've had at NCC. I've learned a lot from his class. Very smart and very good teaching methods. One of the few classes I enjoyed going to. You do have to keep up with the homework assignments. I highly rcmd Dr. Heath for geography.

Your A$$ better study before each and every quiz and test! Memorize everything it's the only way. The guy knows his stuff and has interesting stories but he's not easy or lenient really...I got a B so I ain't hatin' Piece batches!

Awful class!!! Exam and quiz questions are complicated with extensive directions. He rambles on and on. Rarely answers questions in a way that's understandable. I did well in the class only because I after busted my butt for the entire semester. If you want to save yourself a daily migraine then don't take this course. So boring!

I saw in previous comments if you did not pass it meant that you were lazy. This isn't true. Some people just aren't meant for his class, in class and online test every class day eventually takes tolls on many if you don't comprehend the material. His tutor was absolutely pointless, she informed me that she "didn't get why i was bad at geography"

Not recommended! Egotistic geography nut would describe him best. Classes are very teacher centered. Daily and nightly map quizzes are a waste of time if you have more important classes. I'll admit that he is a great mind but his use of trick questions on quizzes and tests can get frustrating. He tricks you with wording. Way too time consuming!!

Dr. Heath makes sure you keep your nose in the book as he gives a daily map quiz and you must have completed an online quiz before each class. i was investing way too much time in this class trying, was getting an 'A', but had to drop because it was too demanding. He has a "tutor" who will give you practice quizes, but otherwise not too helpful.
