Professor Morrow was a really great professor. You learn a lot about editing and using Avid. He lectures about the editing process while your in front of the computer, so you can try it yourself as well. Very helpful course!

Do not take any class with him. Ever. He thinks he is a God when in reality, he doesn't know anything. I'm still shocked that Hofstra hired him. Avoid any class he teaches. You will leave knowing less than what you came in with and it will hurt you in the future.

Shmeh. Not bad. He is really here to teach you the business and how strict it can be. He switches to 'Director Mode" and yells at you in front of the class. He really hits you with the reality of video production. You learn it all, his tests are easy but you learn. Don't get the book.

Doug is mediocre. It's not his fault, really. He has no talent or skill. He got very lucky, got a cushy teaching job where he doesn't have to do anything or know anything. You won't learn anything in his class. Just lay low and smile and you'll coast. I had no idea about his impotence or personal life. Doesn't surprise me though.

Not helpful. Not nice. Plays favorites. Arrogance masks personal & professional failures. Other students and teachers are mean & humiliate him daily. Most of it deserved. Randy Hillebrand's imitation of Doug is bawdy, inappropriate, and cruel but spot on.

What can you say about Doug? He is a living joke in Dempster Hall. Not a day goes by when he is not made fun of behind his back. No one respects him or his pathetic company, DAM Video. His shameless ogling of female students is creepy. His lectures often devolve into profanity laced diatribes about his impotence and unfaithful wife. Avoid him.

Was not helpful. Feel sorry for him. Would drone on and on about his personal problems. I didn't need to know that he is impotent and that his wife regularly cheats on him. His personal hygene leave a lot to be desired for.

Doug is great at the subject but doesn't exactly know how to relay the information to the students. He is very vague with what he wants from you and then tells you he doesn't like what you did. Ask a lot of questions to make sure you know exactly what he wants and you should be alright. Get on his good side.

I did not learn one thing from Doug. If you know anything about TV production do not take him because you already know more than he does. He is living in the 80's and still thinks that dutch angles and slam zooms work in the industry when in fact you will not get jobs if you use his 80's techniques.

I love Doug. He's an awesome professor, advisor and friend. He pushed me a lot and is one of the main reasons why I got where I am today. He's proud of his students and isn't afraid to express it. It was a joy being in Dempster....I miss it.

Doug is one of the nicest guys I've met. He genuinely cares about his students' success and has a big smile on his face when you do something right. He doesn't hesitate to say "good job" and knows when to be strict and when to laugh. Just be cordial to him and respect him and you'll be fine.
