Great professor. Strong background in English so analyzed my papers better than the tutoring lab. Encouraged students to be more aware of world affairs.

Comment:

DON'T take this class with this teacher! She doesn't update grades, she assigns lots of assignments that are due on Friday nights and Saturday nights, and she flips out when she sees a phone sending people out of the class. While teaching she will go off on random tangents and you learn about things taught in middle school. Waste of money and time.

Comment:

A bit disorganized and likes to go off on tangents, but she's a caring professor and always talks about helpful things. Sit in the front, pay attention, and participate, and you're golden. She may not always collect things by the deadline, but always have them done by then. She's understanding and super easy to work with as a student.

Even though she is a humanities professor she grades heave in English material. Not only that but her voice can put any students to sleep, she sounds very unenthusiastic

Meehan gained my respect by the end of the term, she first seemed monotonous and VERY off-topic and never really cared. But by the end of the term her rants seemed more personal, and she really seemed to care about the students. Almost everything graded was online and open book, nothing was really difficult as long as you do all the work.

Like others said, she is old fashioned and speaks I'm a very monotone voice, which makes it hard to get into her lectures. She is unorganized, but expects you as a student to be on top of everything even though she often doesn't even know where we're at. If you want to be an expert on her beliefs and personal life take this class.

An old-school teacher, treats her students like they're in highschool. Kind of confusing, and rushes through the material. Usually late and doesn't really follow the syllabus. She is kind of disorganized and gives quizzes every week even if she didn't get the chance to cover the material. Wouldn't suggest this teacher.

She is a good person but she's not organized, she lectures a lot about life, she has a monotone voice. She needs to change her structure in class, and at times i felt like she got annoyed easily because we were not on track with the reading but yet she changes dates all the time,confusing. I love the subject/material but not her teaching way

Comment:

One of the worst teachers I have ever had. She spoke in such a monotone voice and even worse rarely ever discussed what was going to be on the tests, for the most part she basically would talk about her personal past. She would ask for chapter 8 and answers would be on chapter 40. Horrible Instructor 010.

Consistently late for class, she is fairly monotone, and doesn't cover the material well. This class definitely isn't a gimme, you have to ready everything because she doesn't explain all of the tested material. LOTS of quizzes!

I would never recommend taking a class with this professor. Although she is a good person, her teaching methods are awful. It's obvious that she doesn't make her own powerpoints or review the material before lecture.. The quizzes are extremely hard and degrading to the class morale. If you try REALLY hard you can get an A but it's not a fun class.

she was awful, boring, un motivating, loosing homework and not grading our papers properly, I had her for english 205 and have always been a straight A student until I had her a received a B, when I asked her why she couldnt even give me a reason and still gave me the B. shes boring, and never talks about anything relevent to what we were learning.

Comment:

Professor Meehan's class was not easy, but really, should it be? This is college level English, not elementary. Her topics challenged me as a writer to think outside of the box in order to answer prompts and write about topics I am passionate about. My suggestion: speak up! If you have an opinion, voice it, and the professor will appreciate it.

It's supposed to be a critical thinking course, but is very far from it. She lacks any drive to actually teach her students. Controversial topics are discussed, but not given any interest by her & thus effects the class actually learning something. The personality of a brick wall and you'll literally go insane by the amount of bore she sends off.

While she did come often late to class, she didn't seem to mind when i was running late as well. We REALLY used the textbook. She IS very passionate of her work and as a good teacher, desires to see her students flourish. If you work hard, ask questions she will notice your efforts and try to do the utmost to help you succeed.

DONT take this class!!she was late to class at least 10 minutes everyday when she has already been on campus. she stresses that assignments need to be turned in are mandatory and then when you get in class if everyone doesn't have them she says turn it in another day and the people who already the had them on time don't even get extra credit.
