Taking this class on-line was a huge mistake. I literally had 3-4 hours worth of homework almost every day. He really give alot of work. Beware.

I took his class online and it was the biggest mistake of my life. I suck really mad at math but i thought how hard could it be online, well it was 100x times harder then itd be on campus. Hes a great person and all but if you are thinking about taking it online and is bad at math i suggest not to and just take it on campus. ps.i'm on campus now.

Comment:

Good material and learning, but he really piles it on and there are multiple assignments due every 2 days, which is very unusual for an online class. On top of that, it's very difficult to find out what's going to be due, it has not been made simple. I've had 5 late assignments already. Just be prepared if you take.

in everyone opinion its based on how U vibe with this teacher .Don't be afraid to ask him for help,but he is good teacher He gives extra credit, extents deadlines,slow responses,talk to him during his office hours,he is helpful fr. Participate,do hw, quizzes on time he is fair,gives you chances,dont wait last min in this class, U WILL FALL BEHIND

Comment:

I took stats last semester online with Holtman. I had attempted to take this class on campus the semester before and could not pass. I would recommend taking this class and online. Although he sometimes takes awhile to respond to emails the coarse is really easy to learn on your own.

I took Holtmann for Stats and he was a great professor. A lot of online homework and quizzes every week. As long as you come to class, do your homework and math lab you should be able to pass. It's good to do study groups in lab. You can catch him in the math lab.

Professor Holtmann is excellent . He is very nice, patient and makes complex calculus topics seem easy. He is easy to understand and makes math really clear. I always look for him in the math lab.

I took Holtmann for Statistics last semester and really, really enjoyed the class. Erich is pretty monotone when he speaks but hes super funny and likes to joke around. Dont take this class if you have a fear of group projects because we were in groups eeevvveeerrryy day. However, 10/10 would recommend taking his class. Hes a great professor!

Comment:

Holtmann is a good teacher and I loved his class! Lots of homework but if you pay attention in class you'll pass. Everyday in class in group work and once you do the online test you have 4 tries to get 100 and it's all the same questions. I reccommend him to everyone, he's so nice and wants everyone to pass. He is always checking his email too.

Erich doesn't show much, but he's a cool guy. Answers questions in detail, and never tests on anything he didn't extensively go over. YOU HAVE TO GET THOSE NOTES. Homework every night but its not difficult, gives points for turning it in, not it being all right answers. He does look over it though. He wants you to pass.

Holtmann seems kind of stiff at first but he's cool once you get to know him. Lots of group work. The OLI quizzes on the computer are hard but if you take the exam the lowest grade he will give you is 50%.

Took this professor for Math 034 and I absolutely regretted it. His lectures were long and really boring. I did not understand any of the material even when I asked questions. Math lab hours are mandatory and part of your grade :( I had to withdrawal from the class. After taking it again with another professor I absolutely loved statistics!

Mr. Erich is great instructor. He uses computer software so there is no need to memorize formulas. At the end of most lectures, he will give you quizzes on those topics - which also count to your final grade. Just do your homework and ask for clarification when you don't understand. This was an moderately tough class.

Terrible teacher. Took him for statistics and absolutely regretted it every single day. I took the 7pm class & he also taught the same class right before our 7pm class. It seemed almost as he would rush through our lectures because he already taught the class before. I did not understand anything. He never greeted the class. Nothing was clear!

Erich Holtmann is a great professor. He is clear, always willing to help during office hours, and explains Linear Algebra concepts well. He assigns a TON of homework, so be prepared to put in quite a bit of time. Tests are VERY hard, but he is a fair grader, so you will get a lot of partial credit. There is also a lot of extra credit. Take him!

I took Erichs statistics class and it was fairly easy. He didnt teach complicated formulas instead he had us use software to do the calculations he instead focused on ideas. This made it easier to understand.

He is PHD and very helpful. Hard working, to the point lectures, very good class, bonus points everyday for participation. I would take another one of his class in higher level math.

Comment:

The class was good but got very confusing at times. He sometimes clears things up but tends to fall behind when he does and rushes through lectures to catch back up. He assigns online homework which can be tough but is manageable, but the labs are very difficult. Minimal testing with good grading should allow you to get a good grade.
