Comment:

Great, caring professor. The class has a LOT of reading and quizzes. Don't take if you don't have time for daily online quizzes. The instructions and syllabus are a bit confusing. Buy the pearson textbook through pearson so you have REVEL access. Textbook is online only. Lots of discussion posts, Prof really appreciates in depth responses!

Erin is a gem of a soul. Anyone willing to put themselves out there to learn a foreign language will thrive in the environment she creates. I LOVE THIS WOMAN, HER EXTREME COMPASSION AND FERVOR FOR SPANISH. TAKE HER!!!!!

Comment:

She is one of the best teachers Ive had at Green River. Her class is average difficulty for a college class. There is homework most nights, but it really prepares you for the tests. She is so passionate about Spanish, and truly cares about our learning and growth. Ive never had a more compassionate and effective teacher. I learned so much!

Comment:

She gives many opportunities to receive extra credit. Although some people say there lots of homework it really should only take about 40 minutes a night which is not a lot considering its a college course and youre learning an entire new language. Its not hard. Shes very understanding and definitely appreciates the work you put into the class

Professor Mommer makes coming to class fun. She teaches Spanish in a way that is simple to understand. She cares a lot about her students and goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone succeeds in her class. She has great lectures and will definitely make you laugh. Definitely one of the best teachers at green river!

Erin is an amazing teacher! She is very passionate about Spanish which is made clear throughout the course. She is nice, funny and extremely understanding. She is also very patient and easy to talk to. She made Spanish very enjoyable and fun to learn! I would 110% recommend taking her class:)

This prof is down to earth when she wants to be, she can rip through the material fairy fast, and you need to be careful as to abide by the no speaking English in class rule unless you are prepared to be removed from class from the day. A few of her teaching methods use peoples work or mistakes as an example so do your best and you will succeed

she helps and cares a lot. she even does a lot outside of class to organize tutors and find scholarships for students. You will work for it but she will reward it.

Comment:

Erin gives a lot of chances to her students. This class was hard and I struggled at first but she talked to me and gave me studying tips that helped a lot. There is a lot of opportunities for extra credit. She really does want her students to pass.

This is a beginner Spanish class and she speaks Spanish only during lectures and expects you to ask questions only in Spanish. The amount of homework is unrealistic and so overwhelming that it not only makes it hard to learn and remember everything, but cuts into homework for other classes.

You can tell that Prof. Mommer is very caring and is passionate about her teachings, even through the online class. She was very thoughtful and gave good feedback on our work which is very much appreciated.

Not a focused teacher. Assigns too much work- everything is online and you have to teach yourself everything. In class you just speak Spanish- actually the same words are spoken every single day- very annoying. I think this is just the way languages are taught at GR though.

one of the best test i have ever had at green river college , even though i was place to high by the spanish department, still passed with her help. i ended up taking another class and saw how much i improved from last quarter. best spanish professor of green river!!

Comment:

Mommer's a fine teacher; nothing too noteworthy but not bad either. Takes a while to grade things. Her tests, discussion posts, assignments, and midterm + final projects aren't hard but do take time. She emails back quickly and is very nice. I wouldn't mind taking her class again (but not a big deal if I didn't).

The Spanish department at Green River will definitely get you to Spanish fluency if you apply yourself. Mommer created a study abroad program and is very dedicated to her students. I would take the class again if I could fit it into my credits!!!

Comment:

The beginning of the quarter is overwhelming with tons of homework everyday. Spent hours everyday after class to study for Spanish. She is really funny, caring and gives good feedback. Her lecture style does not fit me because I am more of a meaningful conversational learner vs she gives the class too much new vocabs every week. Very nice Pro tho.

Comment:

I've taken Mrs. Mommer multiple times and she's definitely a great teacher. Though she assigns lots of online work, she's very helpful when you have questions or when you're confused about anything. If you're taking her language class, try to keep up and do well on the tests, as she is more easy going in a class where the students are doing well.
