Great professor! His philosophy is "you earn your grade". Keep up with the readings and reading surveys and you'll have no problems. He has no qualms about failing someone who doesn't do the work. Objective tests are easy if you do the readings. If you want to do well on the essays you have to pay attention in class.

studebaker is nice guy. and his class i real easy. just do the reading surveys and you can use them on the quiz if you do you will do well. also after 3 quizzes there is a test. you can use your quizes on the test so you will ace those to. After that there is a essay and if you do well on the test you will be fine on that as well. So do the surveys

Loved the reading surveys. Show up for class, do your readings, prepare for essays and you'll be just fine. Very kind and understanding - yet expects you do what you are at college for - to learn! Interesting stories .. sometimes a little dry but I really enjoyed his class. Highly recommended!

Very nice teacher. Works well with the students to make sure they understand the material and have what they need to pass. Does reading surveys to focus on key points from the chapters. Allows you to use all notes on quizes and exams. Very fun class and easy to pass if you read and show up.

Whoever said this man is pompous is completely off base. Don't confuse knowledge and passion for pomp, for this man is extremely intelligent and well versed in his field. If you had taken the time to speak to him, you would have realized that he cares very much about individual students and is willing to share his knowledge. He is far from pompous

I took three classes with him and they were all great! History 121 and 132 are amazing because there aren't any papers. If you take a class where he requires a paper, be prepared to learn how to write a COLLEGE level research paper. It was very tough but informative and helpful.

I recall Dr. Studebaker being amused at a student who told him "you make me think". Rather than making me think, Dr Studebaker allowed me to think and expound on ideas and theories. He is truly a gift to students seriously seeking knowledge. His mind makes him "hot" (amused, Dr. ?)
