Comment:
He is a nice person but is very confusing. He expects you to know extremely detailed information about the material. Study hard for his tests and you might pass. When you ask him for help, he is very verbose and doesn't do the best job of clarifying.

Had Dr. Percival for BIO 005 and really did not enjoy it, so I was dreading this class a little. It was a pleasant surprise. Loved the class a lot, and Dr. Percival was a great professor. Just make sure to study every day, especially when you get to metabolism!!

He was my advisor and I took Bio with him. I felt like he didn't really care much about my aspirations and basically was the guy that made me give up on my dream of being a Nurse Practitioner. He kinda made me feel unintelligent. Wasnt too helpful when I visited office hours. Didn't respond to emails promptly either.

Very difficult course. Lots of memorization of cycles, reactions, mechanisms, and regulation. Percival does a good job explaining things, but can be a little hard to understand before you get used to his teaching style. He recognizes that his course is difficult and is a fairly easy grader.

Professor Percival is a great man, but his teaching style was a little hard for me to understand. He is willing to do whatever in order for the students to understand, though. So take advantage of office hours.

Wonderful professor. He caused me to change my major from chem to bio. He loves his subject and will help if you go to office hours. Tells you what is on his tests, but they are very all-inclusive. If you want to pass you must know everything down to the smallest detail. I would recommend him to any science major.

He is a super nice guy, but his lectures are really boring and his tests are hard. In my opinion, reading the book and going to lab is a lot more helpful than attending his class.

he is not the best at explaining things and his tests get bogged down in minute details, where if u describe something a little different than he might have u will get pts off..

Tests were fair-covered the material given and pretty straightforward. No need to go to lecture-he basically reads off his powerpoint slides which are all online.

Seriously his lectures are pointless. He's a great guy and personality, but I had to drop the course way late in the semester b/c his tests were amazingly hard even if you did study. If he actually explained difficult topics with examples or in lamens terms, it would be a lot easier to follow.

Percy is freaking awesome. Sure you can learn more from the book than from his lectures, but he can be pretty entertaining. The gen bio tests aren't bad if you remember anything from high school biology. He's just a good man overall.

He is SO boring and his lecture notes are so out-there they're hard to follow. You have to do a lot of work outside of class or you will have a hard time. Make sure you get a good lab partner because half of your project grade depends on them! Tests and quizzes are intense! Boring class!
