very knowledgeable in subject, 2 midterms, small writing assignments and final. Will grade you poorly if he does not agree with what you have to say on your essays. Second midterm required you to write about your OWN interpretation on three novels that he never spoke about in class so you never got to know his interpretation. He can get boring too

If you are well-versed in History and you have the ability to think critically; Warren's your man. But if you're lazy, uninformed and struggle with logical reasoning then transfer to a class for losers. Warren is a genius AND he's a real human! Would like to apply for another masters, just to sign up for another one of his and O'Brien's classes.

Comment:
He's ok. He's the head of the department, really mellow but can be a bit flaky. He'll give you free reign in composing your papers and then criticize you if you don't meet his expectations, especially when it comes to grammar. Nonetheless, he's easygoing and tells you exactly what to expect on the final.

Outstanding Professor who relays the material well through his lectures. Take him for FDR, 20th C US hist is his main field. He usually gives 2-3 papers, interpretations and response only, not research, and one finel. The final is easy, spend alot of time on papers they count more. He's interested in your arguments and how well you support them.

One of the best Queens has to offer. A true academic, unafraid to engage students in dialog that challenges his political ideologies. The most thoughtful professor I've had at Queens. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for whatever you can get with him.

Very nice man. Friendly and interested in his subject. He is into social history and in analyzing the motivations of politicians. Great understanding of history--you won't be asked to memorize very much at all; if you like this, go for it.
