Comment:

I really enjoyed Mrs. Capps. She expects you to write good papers, but teaches you how to. Most people didn't respect her and were rude to her. She is older and a little different, but a very polite lady. If writing isn't your strong point I wouldn't recommend her, but if you are good at English I highly recommend her she is fair and respectful.

All you do in the class is read out of the text book or write an essay. Everything you do in the class you can do at home. It is a struggle to go to class, but she drops after 4 absences. She is a nice lady just not the best professor.

Geneva Capps was one of the worst teachers I have ever had. She is not qualified to teach at a college level. She will accuse you of plagiarism if you use one word from a source and not cite it, and you will receive a zero on the paper. She is very strict and does not allow phones in the room. She assigned 4 research paper the last month of school.

A horrible teacher. Taught from the book, assigned to read the book, and she didn't teach me a damned thing. I passed the "most important test" (with an A, one she didn't grade) of the class and still failed her class with a high F. I would recommend Dr. Moore more than anybody, honestly.

still continued from earlier.... This class is really easy if you attend regularly and do your homework. Most of the time, you will have homework from every class period. Most people I have talked to have dropped her eary in the semester. The choice is yours.

continued from earlier.... she made study guides which were helpful but constisted of 10 pages of finding and copying terms out of the book. The day of tests, she makes you turn in your study guide of a grade. On the midterm, she let us use our study guide. On another test, she let us use the book.

Capps was an alright teacher. She seemed more like a high school english teacher rather than a college professor. Some of her intructions are not clear. She makes you write some form of an essay almost everyday some of which are dumb i.e. like writing instructions on how to make a ham and cheese sandwich and an essay about how to write a good essay

I thought Mrs. Capps was a great teacher. Although she was rather easy she was very interactive with the students and did what she could to help them out! Her class was actually one that I looked foward to getting up and going to every single morning!

Geneva Capps is quite possibly the worst instructor I've ever endured. I finished her class with a D and she actually accused me of plagarism. I re-took the course the next semester with Dr. Fred Alsberg. Upon my completion, I not only recieved an A, but I also decided to add English composition as a minor. I honestly don't think that Capps is qualified to instruct a collegiate level course of any kind. Especially when we have actual professors teaching the same course two doors down the hall.
