I had Dr. Higdon 30+ years ago and to this day still say he was the best professor I have ever had! I took 5 courses with him and enjoyed all of them. He was kind, caring and always made time if needed.

Dr Higdon is a wonderful professor. At the beginning of the semester I was afraid that he was going to be a tough teacher but I was completely wrong. He has been nothing but kind. I have not had much problem understanding things in his class, something I've struggled with with other professors and when I did have trouble he was willing to help.

This class was hard for no reason. First of all, the professor came into class speaking so fast that he sounded as if he was a rapper off a hot music video. He came into the class expecting you to know this information but sir, we have no idea what this is about and this is why we are in your class. Sir, help me. Help. Me.

Comment:

Best math professor I've ever had. Makes sure you understand the material, even if you ask questions on every problem. We'll meet outside of class and help you even more so if need it. I hated math but I genuinely liked going to his calculus class. And he's super funny and makes class not drag on.

Probably one of the worst professors I've ever had. He doesn't know how to teach and on the very first day you'll get completely lost. He teaches like it's a review class. News flash Higdon, it's not. Doesn't care if you're struggling with the material either.

Dr. Higdon is the best math teacher I've ever had. I've struggled with math all of my life and his method of teaching really helped me understand the concepts presented. This course is straightforward, 1 quiz every Monday, non-mandatory homework assignments, 2 exams and a final. Go to class, engage yourself in lectures, and put time and effort in!

Dr. Higdon is a really great professor, he managed to make lectures interesting (mixed with dry humor for relief) and much more fluid than a textbook. Any time I felt confused by a topic and visited him in office hours he managed to put me back on track with ease. I think it would be hard to do bad in his class if you pay attention and participate.

His class is extremely fast paced and hard to follow at times. If you miss a day then you'll surely be lost. His quizzes and exams are written and hard to read/understand. I had to go to the tutors to understand the work, seeing as he repeats silly things and makes solving hard but to him it's the easiest thing ever. Time vs. work load is pathetic

Great guy. Very knowledgeable, very helpful, very nice. I'm terrible at math, and he tried his hardest to make sure I understood it as long as I put in the same amount of effort. Fair grading.

Understanding, flexible, very helpful during office hours. The only bad thing about his teaching is that sometimes he doesn't introduce topics very well. I get confused until we do hw or I learn more about it. I definitely recommend doing the honework b/c it helps you understand, even though it doesn't count much toward your grade

One of the best professors i ever had; i have taken numerous classes with him and had fun, learned a lot and really really helpful.The math thought he taught me made me kick abstract algebra's ass in Dr. Dchene's class.(he made me love math.).Thumbs UP. !!

like stated before, you really have to go to class if you want to keep up with the topics. the homework can be time consuming but he doesn't even count it towards your final grade so you can miss some. he also talks really fast and can be hard to keep up with when hes writing notes, but overall its not a very hard class if you apply yourself.

i'm in applied stats and because he's such a great teacher it's my favorite class!! theres a quiz every monday and he drops the lowest 2 grades, but if you pay attention in class they're all easy 100's. he gives good detailed notes and is just the best math teacher i've ever had! try and get a class with him you'll love it!!!

Stats: I got so lost in his class. He goes over like 2 examples then gives a ton of homework and that's the end of it! There are one-two quizzes every week, sometimes on stuff we only went over once. He writes so fast on the board you can barely keep up. The book is useless, no help at all! Nice guy but the class is taught like a review course.
