Her class was not hard and neither were the assignments but I feel like most of them were ridiculos and pointless . She made us take a midterm when she really hadn't done any teaching and wouldn't let us keep the midterms bc she didn't want us to copy them and cheat but she plans on making us take a final that has the exact same questions.

My experiences with Esch were the worst of any of my experiences at UTM. She is rude and talks a big talk about her colleagues and the "issues" with education, but when it comes down to it, she's a coward. Take my word, this woman has issues. Good professors do not have this many complaints. Where there's smoke... And unfortunately, she's tenured.

I loved her as at first. Then, as the semester went on, our class had several things go on and she turned into a very difficult person. She punished the whole class for what two or three people did. She was very childish in her comments. She was also very picky about assignments. She would claim that she told us things that she never did!

Dr. Esch is a wonderful professor. If you use the guidelines for her assignments you will be fine. I think she is the best education professor. The assignments she gives will be benefical to you when you start teaching. They are not just busy work. If you are able take her for your education classes. =)

Dr. Esch is a great teacher to take, but she has her flaws. There is a lot of work to do, but all easy. Does give random quizzes, no major tests. Reads a lot of children's books during class. Picky grader, and sometimes mean. Gets on a soapbox often. Overall, take her. She's pretty good.

Blunt-yes. Harsh-no. Rude-NO! If she knows that you have a problem ahead of time, she is willing to work with you and is a good listener. She does not accept lame excuses. Directions are clear and explicit. We learn how to use books instead of just read them. This is a great class for those us of who are serious about teaching!!

i'm getting my masters in reading b/c of this woman! class was hard only if you didn't read, which is the purpose of the class. she may be blunt and harsh but it keeps most people in line. creative, openminded, and respectful. i loved her, she is the only prof i still keep in touch with. katie!

Dr. Esch is a terrible teacher and is extremely RUDE! I am very unhappy with her class and way of teaching... If she has a problem with a student, she should address it with that student and not the WHOLE class! Very inconsiderate of other people's feelings!

I feel that this is one of the best classes in the Education Program. Yes, there are quite a few assignments, but the directions are clear and Dr.Esch is available for help whenever you need it. This is one of the best classes that I have taken thus far.

Wonderful teacher! The class is explained throughly, and she helps with each assignment. I like teachers that make you work for your grade. If you want to me an effective and diverse teacher TAKE ESCH SHE IS A STEPPING STONE TO A SUCCESSFUL CAREER!
