I had Dr. Schroeder for lower level Europe Since 1750 class and a upper level Cold War Europe class. Both were similar difficulty. Lower level one was difficult for lower level hist and lots of reading. Once you get the hang of it, it's easier to handle. He inspired me to become a hist minor because he is so passionate about it. Learned a lot!

Very tough class for intro to Euro. history. It seemed like it should be an upper-level course. Tons of reading, we read a lot of "primary sources" which required a large amount of analysis. This course is certainly not what I expected a history class to be like. Dr. Schroeder, however, is very knowledgeable and more than willing to help out.

Dr. Schroeder is an amazing history prof. He is extremely knowledgeable and loves teaching history to others. Very energetic at 8 am but he made it interesting. Lots of reading and all tests are essay, but he gives you a study guide with everything you'll need to know.

Dr. Schroeder is super excited about the class. Everyday he tries to make history interesting! There is a lot of reading and the test are difficult, but if you really know the material given on the study guide you will be fine. Great man. Very passionate. Made me want to study more history!

Dr.Schroeder is a great man! He really cares about his students. He expects a lot out of his students, but since when it that bad? You will learn a lot. Be sure to read your readings well, and be able to participate in class. He is very formal and extremely helpful. He won't take b.s. Take him!

Dr. Schroeder is a really nice guy and loves the material which he teaches, but make no mistake, he is a hard grader and expects a lot out of his students. You will learn a ton, especially from primary sources. So, if you love history, want to learn a ton, and enjoy class discussion, take Dr. Schroeder. Also, spend as much time on papers as you can

The class is not too bad but he assigns work as if it is the only class you are taking. Write a paper and read a whole book by next class...if you are into that kind of work this is the right class. He is a Nazi.

On of the most interesting classes I have ever taken. It is too bad that Dr. Schroeder gets a bad rap on here. When you take his class be prepared to work, but also learn a great deal. If you try and participate in class it is not too bad

This proff is a terrable teacher, if i wanted to know what joe schmoe thinks about Voltair's meaning of his novel candide i'd pay him 30 grand a year to do so. This guy grades shady too. i've learned more history in music class and watching tv than in his class. so if you want to learn history, take someone else

BORING.....lots of handouts. It seems like he is a history teacher that was forced to teach symposium. He discusses his readings alot and if you don't read them you will be out for the daily participation points. Overall ok teacher but very boring.

Dr. Schroeder is very passionate about his subject. His mannerisms can be very entertaining in class if you are willing to lighten up. He is difficult, but it is for the better. By grading strict and being so critical, he made me a much better writer, especially in the field of history. If you enjoy a challenge, take him.
