Comment:

This is the worst professor I have ever taken. It was a big mistake because at least 20 out of the 27 students ended up late dropping his class. He does not teach, he demonstrates from the book. He said if you have a 69% you will not receive a C. Most kids were failing the class, I am going to take the easier professor next year. Henry Check teaches accounting, economics, statistics, finance, etc. He was not very helpful, he is only sarcastic and arrogant and told my friend he wasn't smart.

Henry Check is: Rude, sarcastic, boring, unhelpful. Lectures from powerpoints all class. Only work outside of class is on Aplia which you must purchase online for $80. Does not give out study guides before tests. Henry might know his stuff in the business world but cannot communicate efficiently enough in the classroom to be a good teacher.

He's not as bad as people say he is...I'm not good at economics at all and his class bores me to death. HOWEVER he is fair with his tests and If you do have a legit question he will try to help

Taking ACCTG 211 w/Henry @ PSU-LV was a big mistake. Besides the fact that he is rude, arrogant and demeaning, Henry is not the world's best teacher. He is excellent at reading powerpoint/answer keys word for word though. 3.8 GPA @ University Park, had to late drop. Shout out to the adult learner, who was constantly belittled, I feel for you!

Very difficult teaching style. He generally goes far too quickly, even on difficult material. Furthermore, he tends to be quick to anger, and can often criticize students. When asked for help, he refers you to the campus' tutors, which doesn't help because the campus doesn't have any statistics tutors (they send you math tutors for help).

Where to begin? For starters Check is sarcastic, condescending and unsympathetic. He will openly belittle students in class- not only college age students, but adult learners. What he is not is a teacher. He does not tolerate questions, and does not hesitate taking his personal problems out on his students. What a mess.

Very hard tests and quizzes. VERY condescending to the students. Tests and quizzes did not reflect the course work at all. Basically all does is assign homework then go over it in class before it's due. No real teaching at all. Aside from about 2-3 decent professors, PSU LV has really horrific staff. Do they even read the student evaluations??

he made this class a lot harder than it had to be in my opinion. his lectures could be much better and a lot more interesting. homework is long and difficult. he does NO review whatsoever for tests or quizzes. tests/quizzes were very difficult. he was not very helpful when asked for extra help after class. do yourself a favor: dont take his class

He was by far the worst teacher EVER in LV DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS UNLESS YOU LIKE TO GAMBLE in the class I took only two kids passed I only wish I was smart and dropped the class like the half that did when they could I hope to see him gone in a year. but if you like to gamble on your grade go for him

Very challenging, but a good professor. Very few A's given for final grades. Read the book and do all homework to succeed with him. He notices if you are a responsible and proactive student. You must make an effort to get a good grade with Prof. Check. I think if people would've studied as much as they complained, grades would've been higher.

I will give you the best advise ever. NEVER take****ty economic at pennstate. at all you should difinitly take it at a community college. this guy is very tuff. his quizes are soo hard. and his exam is 100 multiple choices. so the other guy Culp is not better so donot dream of having a nice grade if you take this stupid class at PSU

hm, well lets start by sayin he is WAYYY too hard on his exams. It is all multiple choice exams and there are only two. the good thing is he makes the hmwk 25%. VERY hard on his exams and he is excrusiatingly boring. Take culp, he is much better than check lecture & exam wise
