Took Hugh's English course way back in 2003. He helped me a great deal with my writing and showed encouragement. -Couldn't have done well in subsequent university courses without Hugh's valuable instruction.

Very nice man who will do his best to help you. True he will not mark you high on essays unless you hand in something truly inspired - He wants to you learn something. Nothing wrong with that. His lectures and tests are always relevant and his class was a joy.

Easy course. Takes a break every 3 slides haha. Textbook is easy to read and understand. Handouts he posts are helpful - contain main points. Definitely a unique character to say the least... Tends to pull marks out of nowhere though.

you must go to class! his midterm is extremely EASY! however, he will not give you a high mark on you essays or groups works (i.e. never an A+). he just doesn't like giving 90's. he seems like a menopausal women, because he has mood swings. his class is very fun and you will not get bored.
