Uses big words. But promotes REAL understanding of material and encourages outside questions and reading. Made me real interested in SOCIOLOGY and had many out of class in-depth conversations. My favorite teacher ever

Soc 227 was interested, lot of reading and he is a hard grade with his papers. Everything have to be around what he saids,not your own opioion.Good Luck, if you want an a you have to work hard.

The only interesting lecture was the second one. So boring, it was my nap time class. Tests are out of the readings but do try,as hard as it is, to pay attention to what he sais he he asks questions from there too.

I had this professor for Soc 101 and he wasn't that bad, but for Soc 227 he's not that good. Talks alot - very disorganized - very boring and a very hard grader. I'm sorry I took him for 227.

He's a really great guy. He is passionate about what he teaches, and cares about his students doing well. There are a good amount of readings, yet for the most part they are very interesting and relevant to the topic of the course. A few papers and a Final, all of which are straightforward

Lectures are long. If you are a good note taker you should be fine. For a long class he makes it fun and insightful. He is very concerned that everyone does well and gives ample opportunity to do so. Very good professor.
