Dr. Dorning has an enormous heart. She is a cognitive psychologist who focuses on all areas of human development. I highly respect and appreciate her efforts to make the classroom a fun upbeat environment. She is always smiling and eager to educate. The classes taught by her are easy to understand. Take notes and listen, you will be fine.

Great teacher, but tests are a little difficult. But she does offer extra credit, so I'd recommend using it. Also, she gives a lot of information for lectures but also expects you to read the book. If you don't read the book don't expect to pass with flying colors... Very kind and giving woman!

Don't expect any replies or help for online classes. As for grading criteria, she is clear, but even though you may think you earned all possible points, don't count on it, or any explanation as to why you were counted off (even when she said you did an excellent job).

She is very passionate and her lectures are good but the test questions come straight from the study questions. Buy the book, use it to do the study questions, study those and you'll be solid. Lots of material is covered, so that makes it a challenge. She isn't easy, but she isn't terribly difficult. Wonderful lady!

Dr. Dorning is an awesome teacher. She is only hard if you don't take notes and don't read the book. She is extremely helpful and really cares about her students. If you get an A in the class you will have earned it, but she is VERY fair. I actually find her to be a very calming person to be around. She is a very positive person.

I had Dr. Dorning for 2 classes and I suggest you take her in the traditional format, NOT online. I really like her but I can see where people had trouble in her class.

She is an amazing teacher. It's not a gimme class. You have to study but you walk away with a gift of knowledge that you didn't have when you first walked into her class. It was tough but worth the work.

Very hard class. She has a huge project and her tests are really hard. They usually cover at least five chapters. She sometimes teaches on a graduate level and leaves you asking WHAT? However, she is very nice and helpful. She is upbeat in class, but still hard!

She tries to cram too much in for a test. She doesn't go over what she should go over. She talks to us like we're all psychology majors. She wouldn't let the education majors out for field experience even though all but 3 people were education majors.
