It's definitely mandatory to go to EVERY class, otherwise you will be clueless during the exams. You really need to look in depth into the materials, Janice is a very hard marker. Her lectures are interesting nevertheless, always talks about the store Kit, witty sometimes but hard to please when it comes to marking. Just STUDY HARD & ask questions!

Comment:

This class was hard. Lectures were long, semi-dull & required continuous notetaking. The essay was extremely in depth, the midterm & final expected a lot, & it was hard to get a good grade. BUT, Janice did an excellent job, and even with all the stress and hard work I came out of the class feeling like I ACTUALLY learned something. Recommended.

I have never had a worse teacher. She endorses skipping class, and is extremely lazy. She is never available for office hours and appears to have no interest in students or that they actually want to learn. I did great in her class, but I hope to never see her again. She gives teachers a bad name. Not what MRU is about at all.

Extremely picky and hard marker! She talks a lot and not everything she says is needed for midterms or exams. She expects a lot for questions not worth a lot of marks. You have to memorize EVERYTHING.

Unfortunately I had to take her class 3 times. Hard to understand what exactly she wants in the assignments, things have to be worded in one particular manner, if not -she fails u. She talks a LOT in class, becomes hard to filter out what is useful what is not. Ohh, and the jokes that everyone likes so much, she tells the same ones EVERY year.

HARD MARKER. Gave our class a very difficult essay and it was only our first semester of the 4-year program. Friendly enough, joked around in class and went deep into detail in History of Interiors.

For a beginners interior design class, a 40% written assignment is a little too much (hard marker too) She goes really fast, and doesn't let you know what you need to know for tests. She'll tell you that you don't need to know some of the things she says - don't always believe her. Take really good notes on all the background info! Very vague!
