One of the BEST instructors I've ever had! I heard he retired, but might be coming back. If he did retire Phoenix College lost one of their best. I wish all my instructors were as passionate, and informative as Jed Allen.

Comment:

Very unique man & approach to English. Focused on prejudices & racism. His class will force you to look at your own ideas, as well as others POV. He tried to help you become a better writer, rather than focusing on nit-picky MLA Format(YAY!) If you have the chance definitely take Mr. Allen's class.

Tennessee Jed is one in a million! An educator who truly cares about students, life and human kindness. This man has soul. Jed is not just a teacher, he is an experience! I highly recommend. Deem yourself lucky if you find yourself a seat in Mr. Allen's class.

One of the best teachers I have ever had! Jed is a great teacher and he helps you. He is also hilarious too! I would recommend Jed to anyone. As long as you do the homework you will do fine. He does not give tests and does not have a final. Only negative side is if you are not a morning person I wouldn't recommend it but it's totally worth it!

I have taken three classes from brother Jed. He is truly a member of dwindling breed and throughout my college experience he has probably been the most influential figure I have the privilege to share a discussion. If you are lucky enough to be in his class please share your thoughts, he does not like to lecture but rather he wants to hear you.

Jed is older than dirt and is wise beyond his years. His class is easy b/c it's fun but it's difficult b/c it forces you to face your prejudices. His themed ENG102 will make you look at the world more critically whether you want to or not. But he's such a cool cat that you almost welcome the changes. And his life stories are hilarious. He's great.

EASY EASY!!! No text book. Only three papers. Gives 6 weeks to write final Research paper. Class is themed on race and prejudice. Very interesting in class conversations. No lecture. He is FANTASTIC. This is my third and last attempt to take ENG 102 b/c I HATE writing but he rocks my socks! EASY A for everyone! Don?t take class if easily offended:)

Jed is the first writing teacher that has encouraged me to write and has found my essays interesting. Before I took his class I thought my writing skills were low but he graded my essays above a C average. He is a very good instructor.
