Comment:
Research & Writing is an intense course, but Dr. Davis gives great advice and is very straightforward when grading papers. He seems intimidating in class, but outside (during one on one meetings) is very open to hearing what your ideas are and how you can manage your final paper better. He tells you exactly what you need to do, so listen to him!

Dr. Davis is a phenomenal history professor. I have taken a class with him twice because I liked his teaching so much. He is funny and caring. Make sure to go to class as much as you can, I did not follow this and my grade slipped, but I still passed. If you are going to take an entry level history course, take Dr. Davis, he is the best one here.

Wants every student to succeed and to do well. He teaches a lot of 100 level courses so his difficulty is skewed. You will easily pass if you show up to class. Many students complain that he is "hard" or doesn't teach the material but that is just silly as he goes over a lot of the test questions in class, and always tells you what you need to know

Dr. Davis tells you exactly whats going to be on the test and the class before he tells you want he wants in the essay. You have two articles to read every week and some weeks you have quizzes on them but you never know. If attendance is low there will be a pop quiz but he give you the answers in class. Lectures are boring but take good notes

I took this class 1 day a week, class usually lasts the whole time but he makes the lecture interesting! He clearly tells you what he expects and the here is no reason to not pass this course! He is helpful in office hours and very easy to talk to!

Dr. Davis is a hilarious man. The amount of work for his upper level classes is reasonable. For History 379 it is four papers and a participation grade, no exams. He isn't the easiest grader on papers, but if you meet with him ahead of time he will look over it and give you advise. Would recommend.

If you go to class take note and DO the work, study before a test and you'll be fine. His upper levels require you to read a lot and he does except you to keep up(of course). But over all great teacher;I have taken him three times and would love to take his class again.

Awesome teacher. I hate history but professor Davis made it extremely interesting. The only bad part is the quizzes he gives out every week but if you read the material you'll pass. He gives out study guides for the exams which is helpful. he's hilarious and a plain AWESOME!!!!!!

I LOVED Dr. Davis hes great at clarifying the events in history and actually making it fun to learn. He uses powerpoints as an outline for himself to lecture, so be prepared to write alot. Attendance is manitory for a few reasons: its 40 pnts, he might make fun of you if you dont, & doesnt give you missed notes.

His class is actually pretty hard. His tests are only abot 20-25 multiple choice/true false questions and then an essay worth 50 points. If you don't nail the essays, you won't get an A on the tests, but you can get a B easily. He was okay, but not as great as his other reviews make him seem.

Really enjoyed Mr.Davis's class. I had him for the first time this summer. Really easy to follow, takes alot into class participation, attendence and how you interact with the class. Tries to be funny, but really isn't. If you take good notes you will do well in the class.

I highly reccommend taking this course. He's a great professor and makes history class very interesting. If you take good notes you're going to get a good grade in his class. The quizzes are a little difficult but if you read prior to class you'll do fine. The class is set up for the student to do well.

Dr Davis is fantastic. Absolutely loved his class. Teaches mostly through power points, but always makes class entertaining. Reading quizes arent bad as long as you read. Tests are really fair, I never studied for more than an hour and passed the class with an A. Highly recommended to anyone.

The quizzes are kind of hard but just do the reading and you will do fine. Great class and a great professor!!! Highly recommended.
