Comment:

Class was great. 3 exams (2 mult-choice and 1 final 3-5 page paper). Not difficult at all, especially if you have a knack for history. He takes attendance but I dont think it counts for anything except getting to know people. If you need a history requirement done, this ist he way to go. Plus, Gaab is a really cool prof; not some old, boring prof.

Prof Gaab is awesome. The class doesn't drag on; he always tries to make the material interesting. No papers or homework; just three exams (2 mult choice, final essay). Exams are easy if you attend class and study review sheet. I wish I could take Gaab for other classes.

For an 8 am, the class is not bad at all..especially if you like history. Gaab is awesome, great; sense of humor. No homework, no papers. Just three 3 exams..which are easy if you take notes and study the review sheet.

Class was so easy. Study the notes, no point in buying the textbook. Prof. Gaab is the man he is a great guy who wants to try and have a fun class. Its early but its worth it, easy A, if u have somewhat of a brain. Attendance is random. Could of got at least a B+ if i took the midterm and final the first day of class. Midterm and final thats it

Comment:

He's an excellent professor. Class attendance is not mandatory (he doesn't penalize you for missing class), but it really helps to show up frequently. Midterm and final are all straight from the notes. However, his class is very early in the morning, which can sometimes be very arduous, but you can't blame him.

Prof. Gaab is somewhat funny and upbeat. He keeps you interested during class. He doesn't pull much from the textbook readings and he's a fair/easy grader. My classmates and I coined this class "baby history" because it's so simple. He's quite informative despite how easy he makes the class.

Gaab is awesome! He makes the class interesting. His notes are based primarily off of lecture but he gets so into it that it makes you want to listen. All of the exams are "open book" and he gives you a choice on what to write on. I would definately take him again!

nice guy. class is a little boring and rather static, either a lecture with the occasional video. Little to no work really involved if you come to class. 2 essay exams for the semester. Love this guy. He's one of those teachers who you'll always remember, really makes the topic interesting. Extremely helpful, very charismatic, would love to take him again. Easy tests, easy grader on essays.

Good teacher, very enjoyable. Tests are tougher than you might expect, considering how nice he is, but if you study and take good notes, you should do very well.

A breath of fresh air. He has a passion for history and it definitely shows. If you can't drag yourself to class at 8 AM be careful because attendance is mandatory, and I think it really affects your grade. Got a B+, but should have gotten at least A- (had a couple of absences). He does not try to sabotage you with complex requirements.

A good professor. Funny, interesting, you'll learn a lot from him and enjoy what your learning if you pay attention in class. Gives readings, but doesn't quiz you on them. Only two exams, One multiple choice and a final essay (not taken during Finals week, Worth taking his class at 8am if you want a good grade and to learn history the right way

Professor Gaab is a laid back professor who works full time at Farmingdale. He likes history and likes to compare it to the soprano's and such using vulgar launguage (which made it more interesting to me). If you can't handle a teacher cursing, don't take this class. But, if you want a fun history class with an open book final, take Gaab.

Fairly conservative. Unnecessarily vulgar. Little to not interaction in the class. He just lectures at you about how they "need to get all those towelheads." Easy grader, few assignments, one test. I would hesitate to take him again.

Great professor. Doesn't let own views get in way of teaching. Foul mouth, but hey its a college campus, what do you want? 1 essay, 1 in class final essay. He freakin' gives you the answers what more could you want? TAKE THIS CLASS.
