I think he is still a beginner in programming who does not know how to read other people's code, he copies all the work from online , sometimes he can't even explain what's going on and says "it's just the way it is" like are you seriously a professor??

Be aware, He will make mistakes on grades and if he does and you dont catch it the moment he hands back the work he will argue with you that it was your fault for the mistake. He doesn't quite follow the common ways things are dont in code by most others and will be hard headed about it if you try to tell him otherwise.

I can tell Mr. He knows what he's talking about when I discuss the material with him, but during lecture he seems to have a hard time conveying that knowledge. I don't think he's nearly as bad or unreasonable as some say but I would still advise a different professor unless you already have a fairly solid understanding of C++ and data structures.

No reason for the textbook, google will be your best friend. Half the class is just showing up and typing/writing down what he does , he often gives complete or nearly complete solutions to the homework . The accent and typos might bother some people but I don't feel like it hindered the class. Sometimes weird or outdated methods are used.

So... he was a good teacher. He does have a thick accent though so it can be hard to understand him. Honestly, he is easy if you have a slight understanding of C++ or if you catch onto programming easily. He has an assignment due every class and his written tests can be a bit hard. Just prepare to do a lot of research out of class.

I've never regretted taking a course as much as this one. His lectures are painfully long, he's hard to understand (accent aside, he misspells most things), and God help you if he decides to use his computer for everyone to follow. He is an extremely tough grader and doesn't go over any homework or tests. He wants code written HIS way. RUN.

Long lectures. Doing homework and taking exact notes is strongly advised. He is hard to understand, makes spelling mistakes, doesn't go over tests or homework, wants the code exactly the way he teaches it and isn't lenient. Home computer with coding program is strongly recommended. Power points and study guides provided.

I regret taking this class. When he grades homework he will just circle what you did wrong, but not tell you why it's wrong or how to fix it. the study guides come with typos and the teacher is often condescending. take a different compsci professor.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! The online homework was ridiculous, he doesn't pass back the tests, gives no feedback. Can't use the homework or even the book really to study for the tests. If it wasn't for the fact that I had a good study group, tutoring, and I showed up every class I wouldn't have passed.

test and homework are from the book it doesn't seem to do any good to study the book because the tests are not from the homework. if this is your fist stats class i would recommend another instructor. if you are familular with stats then you should be ok

Professor He is a good teacher. Other students just made it difficult for themselves by rudly talking in class during lecture.. And then asking the same question he just answered. If you have a learning disability or have an attention problem, please don't take this class to make it even more difficult for everyone else. Please.

There wasn't one assignment, test, or PowerPoint without a half dozen typos on it. Returns homework and tests to the class frequently without grading it. He just comes off as unprofessional. A very strict grader and test questions can be ambiguous. The book (WallsMirrors) was unhelpful. I'd advise finding another teacher for CompSci41.

Just an incredibly awful teacher. So hard to understand, his lectures are boring, long, hard to understand, and he is a tough grader. This is a beginners class yet he treats it as if you know everything already. DO NOT TAKE HIM. His assignments are poorly worded and overall, just a non fun class. No tests are multiple choice.

Mr. He is extremely difficult to understand. And it is unfortunate because this class is already hard and having him teach the material makes it even more difficult. I was learning mostly everything on my own through my textbook and online sources. If you can avoid taking him, I recommend you do so at all costs.

For those fresh from CSCI-40, this class will be difficult. Your grade is determined by how hard you work in this class. Some people may think he is confusing or hard to understandbut he knows his stuff and works very hard to teach complex topics. If you are an experienced programmer this class should be a walk in the park.

The class isn't impossible. I have taken this course at a 4 year University and passed it with flying colors. When I took this class, I was surprised to see the amount of detail he spends looking into your code. Even though it runs, if he doesn't understand it he will take off points. Nice guy, knows his stuff, but not a practical comp sci lecture.

Horrible. Avoid at all costs. Not fluent in English and very hard to understand. Insults his students. Assignment directions are unclear and contain very basic grammatical/syntax mistakes that make the class very frustrating. Book used is horrible too. Buy problem solving:the object of programming by w.savitch and teach yourself the course instead.

Non-difficult course if you TRY. Mostly basic algebra equations/trigonometry review. He shows where equations come from & does examples similar to homework. The Exams are almost identical to the study guides, so review it. Course is basically a "refresher" of previous material. Homework is done online & EASY bonus points for good attendance.

He does have an accent and he does word problems a bit oddly, but it doesn't take long to understand his lingo. Actually, he was a pretty damn good teacher, especially since he taught how to create equations and not just how to solve them. He gives up to 20 points extra credit and you can see him after class or during office hours for tutoring.
