Comment:

As an art major I would suggest taking literally anyone else for an art credit. She assigns way more essays than any other art teacher. She will not answer questions and then gets rude when you try to make her clarify what she wants for essays. She is extremely conceited and pretentious. She also thinks that her 15 year old stains are "art".

Thinks her class is the only class that matters. Take-home project every single week, assigns events outside of class with papers on it, wastes so much time talking during class, wants things to be done her way and is very nitpicky with the way she grades. Easy to get an A if you suck up but it's not worth it, plus attendance is a grade

Comment:

Professor Yarrington is a great professor. I had her for Investigations of text and image and it is a book making class. It is all projects. She is willing to help you and will answer all of your questions. I was not really interested in books but she made the class very interesting.

This is literally the worst class I have ever taken. She is not understanding to students who are taking this as a core class at farifield. She is a hard grader and plays favorites. If you do not enjoy art I would strongly recomend you take another professor.

She speaks for 80% of the class about pretty much nothing and then expects you to complete an assignment in 20 minutes. Not helpful. Very involved assignments every week where you had to go to art room on your own time for hours. Had to go to out-of-class events and write reflections on them to pass. Way too much work for an intro art class.

I have no idea what the comment a couple below is talking about. This woman is wretched. If you are not an art major you can easily avoid her, and I strongly suggest you do. Apparently knowing how to draw a circle in a square is as crucial to mankind as oncology...this is how insane she is. Worst prof at FU, bar none.

This class was honestly painful for me to take. the fact that it's a turbo is bad enough, but this lady is awful... she loves to hear herself speak and she wastes so much time doing nothing in class. i have taken art classes at parsons and was expecting this course to be on the collegiate level, but no, she made me hate art :(

You think you like drawing until you take this class, with this professor. It's a turbo class yet you spend 2 1/2 hours listening to her talk instead of creating art. Then you have to come to the studio on your own time to complete all your projects. I definitely don't recommend it.

Yarrington is among the lowest forms of people who crawl the earth. She wastes time during class then keeps you late. She grades by how much you suck up and assigns at least three hours of homework per class. She is patronizing, conceited and pretentious. If you must take this class, do so under the influence of strong mind altering substances.

A wonderful teacher! Has an open mind and keeps things very real in understanding financial problems with students and in understanding time conflicts with students. Stayed involved with art because of her class and encouragement.

On her syllabus for the May Intersession, she asked for a paper to be written on Drawings that you have viewed at 1 or more of the museums she had listed. The only exihibits that could be viewed were in NY city! Old Syllabus reused!
