I can tell you that any negative reactions to Joe are likely from people who believe college is meant to be easy. Of course this is untrue. Joe is legit and wants you to learn and succeed. He doesnt make you feel bad for being a beginner, he truly nurtures your growth. I appreciate the wisdom I received from Joes class. Ill keep it with me always

Yes, Prof. Miller is tough, no question. Only one person received an A on an assignment. BUT he is very nice and even though some students were downright rude to him, he never once lost his temper. If you ask for help and put lots of time into your work, you will learn a lot and really grow and develop as an artist.

Can be somewhat helpful but this is a beginner class and he is expecting too much. We are just learning, I had a passion for drawing and hes making me hate it and teachers are supposed to help you develop your skill and love it and hes doing the opposite

If you are looking for a good art class and professor, professor miller is the teacher. He loves doing what he does and believe in his students. He is willing to help you as much as you need and gives good constructive criticism. Taking far 102 with him has helped me enhance my drawing abilities dramatically. I would defiantly take his class again!

Professor Miller is an excellent teacher. He is smart, talented and personable. He is extremely interested in what he does and can put it across. This man is not a has-been, nor an ego-maniac. He's level headed and conscientous. Just cool. Best teacher ever. You will learn what you need to know. Be patient and he will show you the painter's way.

Second class with Prof. Miller. Once again, I am was not dissapointed. Learned a lot and enjoyed myself in the process. Extremely helpful, thoughtful and considerate. His own work is amazing as well. So he practices what he teaches.. A gentle soul and just a good all-around guy...

I heard good things about him and I have to say they were true. Prof miller knows how to teach. Shows examples of what to strive for and points out what is good in your drawing and what needs improved. He's never moody. He wants you to work hard but he's fair.

He has been my favortie professor so far! He really cares about his students and is always willing to help. He goes over things step by step and really makes sure you understand him. What I like, he doesnt just point out the bad in your work, he tells you what you need to aprove on without being insulting.I alway look forward to going to his class!

This man will show you how to draw! I found him enthusiastic and thoughtful There were people who could barely hold a pencil beginning semester doing some great stuff by the time it finished. There's a lot of geometric stuff to draw, no doubt, but you'll learn how to draw and compose by the time your done. And he's really cool...

joe is amazing. just the fact that he goes by joe says it.makes a lot of cool music metaphores :) dont have to be amazing at art to get a good grade.focuses on your work improving.advises everyone on their future.very reasonable.expects a lot of effort,but it pays off. not crazy about attendance. his personal work is inspiring. and hes so fine! <3
