I was surprised to see so many low scores on here for prof. Handcock. I had him for Assessment and Intervention, and I walked away learning a ton! He is kind, funny and always willing to help. I would take another class from him in a heartbeat!

You need to go to class for participation. 1 or 2 quizzes. Never used the book. You need to complete 5ish assignments and conduct interviews.

Had him for group work last spring. He teaches from index cards used for years possibly a decade or more. I did not learn in this class at all. I only say it was hard because I didn't know what was expected. He does not want to move into the modern age of technology. Great at 1 time I like to believe He's now the only downfall of FSU's HS program.

He is very nice and helpful if you are willing to ask. I'm so glad I had him for Interviewing techniques. A class that can be nerve racking at times, he made enjoyable!

Nice man, but unorganized. Doesn't explain, and uses old tests. Lecture notes are from the 70's/80's. Gets annoyed when you ask questions. Self deprecating to the point of distraction. Doesn't go over textbook material, yet puts the heaviest grade weight on it. Should retire! Sadly, he is not the worst professor in the dept.

If you have him as an advisor COPY EVERYTHING! He will lose it. Other than that he is very senile. He has been her too long and only teaches his classes geared towards counseling not any other form of HS.

Head of HMSV department, but does NOT know what he's doing or saying...the term "Absent Minded Professor" applies heavily here. If you can avoid taking a class with him altogether, DO IT!
