Comment:

Truly an amazing professor. He made an otherwise annoying requirement incredibly interesting and worthwhile. More than that, my writing really improved in ways that I didn't think were possible. Go to office hours and he will help you shape your essays and he also allows rewrites on all papers which is invaluable! 10/10 would recommend!

Comment:

One of the best professors I've ever had. Really engaging, knowledgable, and charismatic. This class has been extremely helpful and I have become such a better writer. Would definitely recommend if you're serious about writing and are willing to participate fully.

First off he is very smart and knowledgeable and definitely an interesting guy. Secondly he is definitely liberal but at least he is subtle about it. Lastly however, very HARD grader. I spent so much time writing and rewriting an essay and the grade i got was B-totally screwed up my GPA.

Best teacher for this course. Super personable and helpful- go to his office hours it will help you get a better grade & become a better writer. Average grader, but allows re-writes on all essays that will take the place of the first grade. Class is never boring, very entertaining and funny. Only 4 graded assignments (essays). Prepared me well

A very knowledgable and articulate professor. I absolutely LOVED his Honors English class, it was one of the main reasons I decided to take up a Lit minor. He's a great professor, but also a great person.

Vietnam, but not Iraq? I mean, has this guy noticed it's a new century? Maybe not, since the word is that he hasn't changed a book or paper assignment in years. At least you won't fall asleep in class. He's so loud your ears will bleed. Easy easy class, but you won't learn to write.

He is deeply in love with his own voice, which is not that pleasant. He also airs too many of his political views in class, and they have little to do with the material. He also airs them in threating ways:"agree with me or I won't respt you." Really nasty. More a lover of himself and politics than of literature. Where did they get this guy?

dr. hyman is awesome. he genuinely cares about his students, and is very passionate. he's a great speaker, and gives ineresting assignments. he's a very fair grader, but you have to put fourth your share of effort. he's full of great advice on life and writing.

Professor Hyman was the best professor ive had at AU so far. He's funny and extremely helpful. If you put in some effort theres no reason why you would get lower than a B. His discussions are fun, we would talk about random interesting topics...i learned not just about class material but life
