He was one of two professors for this course. Lecture videos were at minimum two hours, very dull and he mumbled. An essay and quiz due every week neither of which we're easy. Two exams IN PERSON which sucked. A lot of work for an annoying class.

My class was split between Kenfield and Thuno. Kenfield's lectures were long for no reason; Thuno kept them shorter. Best way to get a good grade is to watch the lecture videos and read about the art pieces that they discuss in your textbook, since these are what the exams are on.

The first few lectures were interesting, but they all drag on for a really long time, and sometimes he gets off track. Prof. Kenfield is a really nice guy, and you can tell that he's interested in his work, and he doesn't grade too harshly.

On the first day, he announces that the average student gets a C. As somebody who graduated, I picked up so much in his class which I still can put to use in the field.

Kenfield is great..very interesting and very smart. Sometimes he goes a little fast so you do need to pay attention. Its a lot of memorizing (as with any art hst course) so if youre interested in the subject its worth it.

I had no interest in art history prior to this class but this guy made me love it. Professor Kenfield is an amazing professor who makes you actually want to come to class, and he's seen a lot of the art pieces so he shares his own experiences. This class is tough and it's a lot to memorize. I hated when we switched professor's halfway through.

Incredibly boring. He goes through power points way too fast. If you aren't an art history major DO NOT take this class. It was unbelievably hard to study for. Try memorizing 85 ancient pots and drawings and then talking about any 5 of his choosing on the test and saying everything about them.

He covers a LOT of information, but if you pay attention and take good notes it shouldn't be a problem. He also posts his lecture outlines so if you miss something, it's right there. He does talk fast, but clearly. I think he's an excellent lecturer. I also think he's a little odd, but whatever.

I suggest you don't take him. He is a horrible/tough grader. He does not label the slides. He speaks too fast and really low. Though he is VERY friendly, it is not enough to take the class.

Took him spring '10. This was one of the hardest classes I'd ever took, ever. He is extremely nice and helpful however. His lectures are long and hard to listen to, but you better pay attention and write down everything he says and memorize it completely. Good class to take if you already know about ancient greek art.

He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable, friendly, and so easygoing. The only thing is that he talks really fast, making it difficult to take notes. He also doesn't write names in the slides and zips right through their spelling in class, so it's nice to have a friend to catch stuff you missed. For exams, my advice is to write as much as you possibly can!

very good professor. he really loves what he teaches and knows ALOT about it. the only problem was the extreme load of information, which made it hard to study for exams. once you get the gist of how to prepare for the exams you can get an A-B in the class.

Great, great professor! Time flew by in his lectures and they were very interesting. He is very knowledgeable about the subject and you can tell he really enjoys teaching it. Attendance wasn't taken and he put his notes online but you definitely don't want to miss his lectures you will learn a lot! Take a class with him if you have the chance!
