Comment:

One of the funniest professors I've had. Also, no homework, easy grader on open-book quizzes, ends class early and uses real life examples, as he is actually a CPA. HIGHLY recommend, I'm never excited to go to class but I actually do enjoy his!

Comment:

Look up the definition of "Accounting". Professor Purisky is the definition. This man loves accounting. This is my second time taking a class with him (106 and 306). He's a great teacher, and he goes over everything in great detail. He's a different person the higher level you take with him, but he only gets better. Take him and you'll learn a lot

Comment:

Amazingly offensive. Complained about cell phones for at least twenty minutes, and felt the need to warn us he'd be complaining about his wife throughout the semester. Thinks he's being funny, but he comes off as disrespectful to his family and the class. His syllabus looks easy enough, but sitting through his "lectures" wouldn't be worth it.

Purisky is a great teacher. I've taken him for 2 mandatory accounting courses. His class is strictly notes and four exams. He somewhat scales them, give you more points for the highest exam grade and the least amount for the lowest grade. He's got a great personality and is very clear in his explanations. I would 100% recommend him!

PROF PURISKY'S CLASS IS STRAIGHT NOTES AND LECTURE. HE CRACKS JOKES THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE CLASS. HE GIVES 4 EXAMS AND HOMEWORK EVERY WEEK. ALL EXAMS ARE BASED ON HIS NOTES. THE CLASS IS NOT EASY BUT IF YOU TAKE REALLY GOOD NOTES AND DO ALL OF YOUR HOMEWORK YOU CAN GET A GOOD GRADE. I WOULD DEFINITELY TAKE ANOTHER ONE OF HIS CLASSES.

I'm an A student, but I struggled in this class. It is a lot of material, but the professor takes the time to explain it all. His tests are straight from your notes so pay attention and make sure you understand his lectures. I really enjoyed his humor, he reminded me of my dad.

If you were thinking of taking his class, think again.His teaching method was somewhat confusing and his attitude was often arrogant and please someone can tell him his humor is dry and pathetic,he thinks he is funny but enough said. I would think it twice when taking his class compared with other great professors ar salemstate.

he tries to be funny but he is not. He explains well, but he is not good at testing and grading. If you are an excellent student read a lot and memorize his notes. Only good thing is that sometimes he'll tell u some questions on the exams.

This Prof is really difficult. He also is super defensive and disrespectful. He always talks about the CPA exam when all we want to do is learn what we are learning at hand. He tests with multiple choice and short answers, his multiple choice are super tricky and hard. He also speaks real fast so you'll have to ask him to repeat himself a lot.

Very hard teacher, his tests were tricky but just like the CPA exam. I actually think a lot of the questions were copies from a CPA exam review book. If you study you will be fine. I could have studied more and done better. I am sure I will take Purisky again before I leave SSU.

Comment:

Quirky, funny and easy if you know how to study which is to write down every word that comes out of his mouth! Do NOT miss class or you will be lost when it comes to exams which are based on class notes. In COST we stopped reading the text after Ch. 5. Is quick to reply emails. I liked him and I learned a lot from his classes.

Great Teacher! I thought he was really funny and he definitely knows accounting concepts inside and out. To the person who said his tests were in depth, he's here to teach not to make easy exams. I learned a lot and his tests were definitely thought provoking.

I enjoyed his class. Never skip because you will be screwed. All of his tests are based on what he talks about, best if you record the class. He also gives hints on what is going to be on the exam. If you study the problems and go over what you think will be asked and you will do fine. The multichoice can be hard but you need to study.

I dropped his class because he was extremely rude and unwilling to help me. His test questions are so detailed that you needed to have memorized the whole book. This guy should not be a professor... completely indifferent to student learning! I would have failed with him so I withdrew. I received an A with an even more challenging professor.
