Comment:

A very nice guy but cannot teach at all. Does not explain problems. He tries to teach the concept and not problems but fails at it.I would not take a class of his unless you alread know all the material a head of time.

Comment:

Professor Simon does not the greatest job of explaining even easy subjects. I like math, so I was able to catch myself up. He refuses to curve the exams, and after the second exam, there was a line of students to drop. Stick it out and go to the math lab, and you'll be fine. I hate to be mean because he's such a cute old guy.

i was getting a C... stopped going to class and finished with a B from teaching myself. Simon is really funny but useless when it comes to teaching. No doubt gets off to maple.

Nice man, but can't explain math. compares a lot of somethings to other somethings? creates math problems for the exams that even he can't even solve and that are never ending. reteachs lectures. teachs a problem one and day and reteaches it the next lecture completely changing it. isn't clear on formulas.

Seems like a nice guy but is worthless in lecture.. Will go over a problem one way and then change his answer and answer it differently the next day. We happened to switch professors mid-way through semester and my grade immediately dropped when Prof Simon took over.

Prof. Simon is an awesome professor. He is very willing to help a student understand what it is we are doing. Gives good examples in class but tends to go on tangents unrelated to course material. It helps if you have had some kind of background in the subject. Really wants students to understand, not just to know. I would recommend him to everyone

One of the most caring professors! this course was very organized and the TA's were amazing and helpful. Each lecture he would call on people, people were hesitant at first, but he really wants to help everyone. He gives hints and tips to the class and when he does he steps to the side so its like he is not talking as a professor. awesome class

Jonathan Simon was a pretty good teacher. Lectures were sometimes boring and spent on like one long problem that didn't help, but he is still a great guy! Really wants to help students learn. Constantly talking to students out of class asking for feedback. Best part of taking math with him is his tests are very understandable and not tricky!

Very easy to understand. I was a lazy freshman when I took his class and RARELY attended Friday lectures (MWF class) and just did the homework. If you took Calc in High School thats basically all you need to know & its a total review of HS. I got an A- and would have had an A+ if I didnt drink 3 days in a row before the final cuz I had a 98% b4 it

Nice guy but the worst professor I have had, ever. Doesnt believe in curving his impossible tests that look NOTHING like he promises n has 8-10 possible answers.OBESSED with maple.i think he goes home and gets off on it honestly. lecture is a waste. Im a hard working student and do all homework and reading and i STILL have to take this class over!

Simon should not be teaching undergrad once so ever, he does not know how to teach and messes around with maple, which has no relevancy in helping you learn calculus;the only way you will do good in the class is if you have had it before or a reall excellent TA, he should not be allowed to teach that class
