His class was a lot of work, but it was relatively easy if you went to tutoring. He's really nice and always willing to help but he's really old and likes to stick to his methods of accounting. You need to go to tutoring to pass!

Comment:

Lupino is a Very sweet, caring, and understanding prof. He has a bad rep of being hard but if you go to the tutoring sessions you will literally get an A the class. Tutor usually tells you what to study so just go to tutoring and class. May be time consuming but for sure less work than other acct classes

Professor Lupino does not teach, he requires and demands attendance but does not go over the subject. The only way to learn in his class is to attend every tutor session . Lupino offers no help and spends the majority of the class time degrading our generation and taking about irrelevant subjects ie. jelly belly factory and how to make concrete.

What can I say about the worst class I've ever had at SMC? Lupino drains class time by bragging about successful past students he's taught. Then he expects a poor TA to do all the teaching at 9pm three days a week. I've never been so frustrated. He will frequently mock students, and really has a thing for baseball players.

Teaches you nothing, he has a tutor for each class. You have to go to tutoring sessions (along with the rest of the class) to learn anything. Not super difficult once you understand it. Laugh at his jokes so he likes you.

Online homework gives good cushion for tests. Tests are a little difficult, but bearable. Show up everyday and participate to get an A. Final case is ridiculous, but doable. Don't expect any help on it either.

The T.A. was extremely helpful! Going to tutoring twice a week is how I got out of the class with an A. The TA graduated this year though so beware if you take him that you will struggle. A lot. Doesn't really tell you what he expects. Do not miss class or your grade will lower a lot. Don't be late either.

He spends the majority of class telling stories and jokes. He is often rude when you ask for help. Some test questions are in a different format than the Excel format he teaches. The final project is confusing and worth 14 your grade. The tutor tells you everything you need to know to pass the tests. You do learn how to proficiently use Excel.

You won't remember anything from the class but it's an easy grade. Loves to crack average jokes and tell stories. Has a TA do all the grading, tutoring, etc. Take advantage of that resource and you will get an A.

Yes he tells funny stories but its unfortunate that the material doesn't stick once you leave the class. Ive had better accounting professors, he's decent if you're after a good grade but if you want to learn accounting, I'd look elsewhere for an instructor

Easy class. Offers a lot of extra credit. Super lazy tho, he has a TA correcting everything. Homework is easy, he tells you what problems to study for on tests. However, homework is due before he goes over the material, which makes it difficult. Incredibly easy class.

There are a lot of people who say they don't learn anything from him. However, I do. Not only do I learn accounting but I also learn skills on how to land myself a job. The people who don't learn anything usually don't read, show up, or do the hw. His tests are very fair because he tells you what to study. I like him. He has so many jokes.

I'm an average student and this class was pretty enjoyable coming from someone that isn't an accounting major. He has reviews before tests that reflect EXACTLY what will be on the test. Every hw problem is gone over in class and he does his best to crack jokes here and there. Take his class.

I have to admit, I did not like Mr. Lupino my Freshman year - ACCTG 101 @ 8:00 AM -and I'm sure he didn't like me either since I never made it to class. As my years at SMC prgoressed, I learned to appreciate Mr. Lupino and his teaching style. By the time I graduated, we ended up getting along. He even went to my graduation party!
