He's a good person, but not great at teaching. He will often times 'check up' on students, become distracted, and not give them the help they need. Will often disappear and then return forgetting he was helping someone. Sometimes forgets to tell students what their next project is but still expects them to make progress. Deadlines are unknown/quick

Comment:
Great professor, very helpful at explaining techniques and helping a student when they are struggling with a concept. Allows a lot of creative freedom in all projects, as long as they follow the few requirements, very lenient with grading as long as you put in the time and effort.

Comment:
Too many people in the class to get actual help from the instructor, which can make or break an art class. Students that struggled were forced to seek help from other students or figure it out on their own. Volume of projects was unreasonable for the time given for each portion of the class, especially when struggling.

I would not take Professor Josh. His lectures are boring, and long. He yells at the students for laughing, and is very hard to reach. He does not answer e-mails right away. He spends a whole class period talking about himself, when we should of been reviewing. I personally will never take another class with him as a professor.

Sure, he loves what he teaches, but his attendance policies are borderline unfair. Only four missed absences for an art class allowed in the semester, and no excuses if you're contagious and need a doctor's appointment.

Very passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. Prior to the class, I had little interest in studying art, but his enthusiasm really conveys that it is something worth studying and appreciating.

Most passionate, enthusiastic teacher. He really loves art and architecture. I thought it would be boring but it was interesting. He expects you to explain how the architecture relates to what was going on in history at that time. Must attend class. Chicago Field trip required. If he gives it to you, or puts it on reserve in the library, READ
