Comment:

I took logic design with her, although it was a hard class she made it easy to understand with PowerPoints and labs. She has a very clear cut with grading criteria, just make sure you stay on top of labs and quizzes and the final will be a breeze. I regret not taking into to C with her.

Comment:

This class is not rigged for beginners despite it being called intro, it's more towards people with prior experience. You can barely keep up with the class pace, book is not for beginners to read. Material and notes given by professor are vague, so assignments and tests become twice as hard to do ,with barely any feedback on what you should fix.

There were 5 people in the class who had prior coding experience. They are the only people who did well. She does not teach what is required to pass. There was no INTRODUCTION to this introduction to C class. You are better off taking it online because you will have to teach yourself either way.

Seemed very professional but communication through online portal is minimal. Course is pretty much self taught and you rely heavily on TAs who's main answers to your questions are "yeah, no". Course material, test and quizzes are extensive with very short time to complete. Do not recommend to take online, unless only class available for this course

I absolutely adore Dr. Woodworth. I would take all my classes with her if I could. I took prog in C with her when I first started school, and took her logic online class. She was very quick in responding emails and she was super organized and helpful. I got an A by reading the book, the follow her lecture, then homework and the quizzes!!!

While her intelligence on the topic of coding is clear, she's not very good at actually explaining things. Her lectures cover very little compared to what she then has you work on for homework. She also gives little to no feedback on helping you with code. I had to self teach myself everything, very stressful.

Dr. Woodworth was definitely one of the best professors I've taken. She made clear what was going to be on every quiz, and there were no tests, only the final which was a compilation of all the quizzes. She helped extremely well with the lab in class. Would take her again

Absolute worst class to take online. DO NOT TAKE THIS ONLINE. I spent hours every week just trying to pass and this is the worst idea who ever put this class online. Would not recommend to anyone. Their was no room for error and I busted my butt all semester for a C.

I would not take Woodworth. Intro to Programming in C is not an easy course and she goes way too fast in her lectures and skips around, making it even more difficult than it already is. If you really want this class, I suggest Sorgente.

Comment:

Mrs. Woodworth is a great computer science professor! Her lectures always make sense and prepare you for the tests and assignments. I only had to put in about 2 hours of work each week unless there was an assignment (they usually took 5-6 hours). If you want a good foundation for computer science, definitely take this class.

This was a fun and awesome class when I took it. Ms. Woodworth was a great instructor: She actually taught the subject!!! What?! She speaks English fluently!! No wai!! Yes: Major pluses that are absent from lots of professors.. Although they are technically not professors, her and Tami pretty much carry the Computer Science department at FAU.

Do not take with Woodworth if you don't have a basic understanding of C. I failed the class since I didn't understand programming and found it difficult to learn. She goes very fast and it's hard to understand the concepts. The labs are useful, but overall the class was difficult.

The teacher made the material very easy to comprehend. Her labs were difficult; however, those are independent of the teacher and graded separately. She provides incentive to study hard and as reward you can skip the final. One of the better teachers I had this year.

The ONLY professor you should be taking Logic Design with. Every other professor that teaches Logic is humiliatingly terrible, if you speak to the students who have taken it before. The other professors have thick accents, hard to understand, unreasonable grading, and fine with the passing rate being >20%. Joy is the absolute opposite of this.

If you do not have a basic knowledge in programming. do not take this lady. she takes a lot of points off for simple mistakes, and always makes mistakes on the board; if you are already a programmer. you can chance it and quite boring too.

My review maybe skewed with easiness since i knew how to program before hand but she has taught me more then I knew! She is always there to help anyone for help and will give you fun assignments but they are time consuming. If you are in it for the grade, you will hate the class. If you want to program as a career, you will love this class with her

Comment:

I like her, she is smart and funny! However, you should study by yourself a lot! She explains the subject quite well, and gives medium level assignments. The tests are completely covered during the lectures. So, I would take more classes she teaches:)
