never had or used the book and made an A on all my papers. attendance was taken some of the time. we had group discussions alot and watched videos alot as well. you have to meet with her once but I would do it more than that because she likes that. Take Dr. H!!!

The class is pretty boring, but she is a very easy-going professor. The theory textbook is not all that fun to read. Basically, she talks through most of the class and we take turns giving our input. Not a hard class, just boring. She's a nice lady, though.

One of the things I love best about Dr. Hollingsworth is that she genuinely wants to hear what everyone wants to say. She wasn't a super easy grader but you were allowed rewrite opportunities that could easily get you an A. However, if you need structure, this is probably not the class for you.

Take a class with Dr.H if you get the opportunity. I just completed a difficult class with her, and I am glad that she was the one teaching it. Even though the course was hard, she broke it down a lot for us. She is understanding andgives helpful feedback. Her best trait though is that she gets very excited about what she it teaching and openminded

I have had this professor in the past, and I must say that she is one of the best that UNCW has to offer. Some folks mentioned that she is easy going, and she is to an extent, be she is not slack. She wants her students to succeed and is there for them in anyway they need her. She is definitely a great professor!

She is one of the best teachers i have had so far at uncw. She is very easy going,unlike some of the other English professors here. She missed alot of classes this semester,but she's making it up to us by giving us extended due dates on the assignments.Between her and Dr. Byington,I have learned more about writing this semester than ever before.

FABULOUS!!!! I've had her for 101, 202, and 225! You have to work in her class, but her enthusiasm really keeps you going! She is super sweet...a little scatterbrained but in an adorable way. She really loves what she does. She passes her passion onto the class. She almost has a "grandmotherly" complex! You have to work hard, but you will love her!

Dr. Hollingsworth is AWESOME! She is so nice and understanding, and extrememly helpful. I felt like I learned a lot in her class, and she made it fun. Children's lit. is great because you read a lot of good books, and you do a presentation on a fairytale with a group. There are like 4-5 short papers, and one big paper at the end! Such a nice teacher. very caring. participate in discussion and she will love you. you write six pappers most she doesn't want them to be more than two pages. only one paper was supposed to be five pages. she lets you revise which is helpful. she really gets into the readings. i would reccomend her class.

really nice lady, it's pretty easy to do well on her papers because she's the kind of person who'll help you fix what you did wrong rather than give you a bad grade right away just because she CAN. lecture can be dull sometimes if you're not into literature. definitely take her class though.

Very very nice and laid back but a little disorganized. She changes due dates around a lot and sometimes doesn't specify how to put assignments together. You have to worry if you're handing things in the way she wants it. But again, very sweet and caring. She also has a good sense of humor.
