Professor Schenk was really helpful in telling me what things to fix on various essays assigned every few weeks. Weekly discussions are pretty easy if you follow directions and explain yourself. The quizzes can retaken as many times as you like. Pretty good class overall and you can get an A if you put in the work like I did.

Probably the worst English class I've ever been in. We read the book the Hunger Games and then she asks us questions about the movie. I was shocked. She's obsessed with Alice and Wonderland, so much that she based her class on it. If I didn't need the class I would have dropped it in a heartbeat. My 9th grade Honors class was more challenging.

One word: ANNOYING. She doesn't like any work you do. She grades super hard and she is obsessed with star wars too! She really didn't make me feel confident in my essays and I used to write such amazing ones.

I took this class online and i'm glad I did. Prof. Schenk is extremely helpful, she answers your emails really fast and has guidelines and models for every assignment so that its easy to understand. If you stay on top of your work, and actually put some effort into your essays, it should be an easy A!

Taking her online Eng1C class. I don't understand how people are saying she's a hard/unclear grader -- I've been utilizing what I learned in /HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH/ to write my essays and I've gotten 99/100 on every single one so far. Lots of weekly work, but very easy to do.

Took Children's Lit on-line. Very organized professor, well presented instruction, helpful when needed. Has high standards - it's a GOOD thing people! You'll learn a lot if your interested. Ask questions. Do the work thoughtfully and carefully and you'll do fine. Tip for on-line classes: Schedule the time as if you were showing up to a class.

I have taken several online classes and Joyce was probably the most organized in the dept. She is very clear with instructions and gets back to you asap. I liked her. English 27 had a lot of small assignments- don't take this class if you arent into creative thinking/writing.

I thought she was a great prof- 1st essay is always harsh, but she allows re-writes. After you get the hang of it, it's EASY. Just do exactly what she asks, no literary frills. Lots of busywork, plenty of opps to get that A. I'm pretty good at writing papers, but I got a 73 for my first-I improved with each paper and got a 100 on the final paper!

Her class was ok, but on the boring side. She is really unclear about what she expects from the essays. I usually ace English essays, but she gave me lower grades and I couldn't figure out why. Everyone agreed that she's an unfair grader. She's a nice person, but the class sucked.
