Honestly, if I had the option I would not take her again. She moves way too quickly for a remedial course. She may think that she is helping, but in all actuality, she isn't. Also, you won't get anywhere without the textbook. She works straight out of it, so ALWAYS have to bring it to class or you won't know what's going on.

She talks down to you and treats you like an idiot. Really did not enjoy her class in the least. Unless she is your only option, I'd avoid her. I'm good at math and still hated every second of this course.

Comment:

Professor Evans gets a bad rap, but she's the type of teacher that is few and far between. She doesn't want excuses, just show up and do the work. She's pretty sarcastic and expects a lot from you. I recommend her classes if you have a sense of humor!

Comment:

This class was fast paced for high school math. She assigned dozens of homework problems each week and those problems were due in two days. She also gave pop or homework quizzes based on those problems. If you study for this class, you will do fine. I did not study so I ended up with a D in the course.

Comment:

For a remedial course, this class was really difficult. She gave homework quizzes everyday and the exams were really long and difficult. There was also lots of homework problems assigned for each assignment. It was even harder than Precalculus 111 and 112 combined. I'm glad that I am out of this class.

She started off the 1st class of the semester with a lecture on how to address her in correspondence (as Prof. Evans, not "hiya," "hey," "what's up," etc.) and similar diatribes like she was addressing a remedial middle school classroom. It was embarrassing, unnecessary, and unbecoming of a university environment---made me feel unintelligent.

Worst math professor I ever had. She yells at you for no reason, talks down to you, and think she's helpful but she's really not. She gives quizzes almost every class to help your grade. She doesn't check homework but it's highly recommended that you do it cause she's horrible at teaching. Avoid taking her at all costs.

she has a real attitude problem and yells at you if you get something wrong or ask a silly question- but as long as you do your homework and read the chapters on your own you should do fine in the class. i had to find an outside tutor though because i was afraid to go to her office hours for help

Take her. She gives you so many quizzes to boost your grade, plus she drops the lowest one. Her grading on the tests and quizzes is just like all of the other professors- she tries her besy to prepare you for the final. She is always willing to help you outside of class. I will agree that she does give off an attitude, but ignore it.

Worst teacher I've ever met. Failed me because I missed 3 quizzes while I was at my mother's funeral. Wouldn't let me make it up. Thinks she's funny and tries to make jokes during class. Talks down to you and acts like you don't know what you're doing. Avoid this prof.

She's ok. D homewoork before class because there are ALWAYS homework quizes. Harsh grader on tests but gives you partial credit. Go to office hours before final time, and it will help. Alot of other ppl thought she didn't teach..that's pretty much true, but i don't think any interm. alg. teacher really wants to teach this sub. to college studnts.

to get the max out of the class, must do your homework before hand. she accepts late homework. she goes over anything u want from homework. she takes attendance. gets crazy when people outside are loud and tended 2 speak 2 class like we were 5 year olds from time 2 time. but i understand math now

the best math professor i have had. she explains things so clearly & makes sure everyone understands the material before moving on. she is always willing to help those who need it. Excellent professor overall!
