Professor Hendon really cares about what she's teaching and what her students are thinking. Classes are filled with interesting discussion topics in an environment where everyone's opinion matters. Professor Hendon also is one for field trips, which is always a plus. Overall, a memorable experience. Not for those who lack an interest in history.

reading isn't too bad. just pay attention in class and you'll do well on the exams. her final exams have all been take home which means you can turn them in as early as you want. i only ever had one group project in her class. she tells you what she wants in the papers and how she wants organized. fair - easy grader

Great teacher overall. Incredibly smart (very distinguished writer in her field) and very helpful. Really cares about her students. Was willing to give me extensions on deadlines twice when I was in a tough spot. Lots of work but if you are up for it you will learn a ton. Really great professor and a very nice lady with a good sense of humor.

Very nice woman who knows a lot in her field. Makes you read chapters from multiple textbooks but class discussions hardly stem from the books. You can easily study the night before and receive a high B on her test, just by googling the study guide questions. No one ever paid attention in class but her tests were always exactly the study guide

Comment:
Nice woman who knows her area of study, but the class is very demanding. Lots of reading and tests are very specific, especially the final. Throws a lot of information at you in and out of class and only somewhat addresses concepts in class. Questions on quizzes and tests are often tricky, but quizzes are open notes/book. Overall, just decent.

Very nice, easy to follow. Love archeology and she definitely knows her stuff. It may be boring at times, but overall the class was really good and I learned a lot. Fair grader, a lot of reading but it's not difficult.

She is such a nice person. I have her as an adviser too, and she is very helpful everything, not just her class. I wasn't the biggest fan of the content of the class, but I can't say anything bad about her. She tries to answer everyone's questions.

likes when people contribute [never ever says your comment is 'wrong']; doesnt often talk for a long period of time without involving class. teaches the subject well. not too much work outside of class [mostly small readings]. overall a wonderful prof.

Archaeology is not hard, but it is boring and tedious. She likes to let you teach yourselves by doing group work on the readings which of course no one did, so that bombs.

She was one of my favorite professors at Gburg. She was so nice and down to earth with her students, esp. once you got to upper level courses...we even went out to eat. I learned so much about Anth. from her classes.

A great professor who as great at facilitating good discussion, but she definitely gave *way* too much reading for a first year seminar that satisfies no major college requirements.
