Wonderful lady, passionate and really friendly and loves her students. But the material was skewed so she could teach a particular interest which ended up making the class way more confusing and difficult than everyone elses property...

Wonderful professor. Very clear lectures, plus she provides her slides and some outlines which identify key points. Very patient, approachable and supportive. Fair marker, fair exams. Goes above and beyond to provide detailed feedback for exams and assignments. Made Property Law one of my favourite classes.

Comment:

Most people hate first year property, but it was one of my favourite courses mostly because of Mickelson. She's very passionate about the law, and property and it's infectious. She's an extremely fair marker and willing to help. She works in fun anecdotes and best of all, she doesn't just lecture constantly but has useful class exercises.

Great prof! Will take her again when she comes back from sabbatical. Marks on a tight curve. Cares about her students, very easy to talk to--one of the nicest and brightest profs at UBC! her outlines are very helpful, use them. She gives the "bigger picture" of property. I love her little sidebars and stories--they make the class.

I enjoyed her class tremendously. She does veer off topic and didn't get through the syllabus, but so what? A self-described "international law geek", loves to answer your questions and does so clearly and understandably.

By far the nicest prof at the law school. This may be why she tends to compress her marks a lot; usually no one gets a really low mark, but it's hard to get a really good mark. Depending on your approach, that may or may not be good.
